While the Left clamors for Medicare for All and unfettered mass immigration, it's important to learn from what's happening on countries where they already have socialized medicine and open borders. The long and short of it is this: nothing good.
But if you want your ER and hospital to turn into a Third World nightmare, be my guest. Before we go down that path, here's a taste of what it's like in Germany, though.

Here's just a taste of what diversity has done to German hospitals:
A Berlin emergency nurse has described how treating members of Arab criminal clans can turn hospital wards into security operations, with police called in, large groups of family members flooding into facilities and medical personnel taking precautions to protect themselves.
Speaking to Welt under the pseudonym Felix Wolf, the nurse said he has worked in a Berlin hospital for around ten years. He described gunshot and stabbing victims as a recurring feature of emergency work and said some of those involved are increasingly young. When certain surnames associated with known Arab clan families appear, he said, staff alert security and police.
Wolf said relatives can arrive rapidly after a clan member is admitted, mobilizing through dedicated Telegram groups. He described situations in which medical personnel face intimidation and threats if an injured relative’s condition deteriorates. According to a separate account of his testimony, he no longer wears a name badge because he fears being identified outside the hospital.
The nurse said he also changes how he deploys staff when treating young Arab or Muslim men. ‘If two Arab boys have to be treated, I don’t send two girls in,’ he told Welt, saying he ensures a male colleague is present. Wolf also said he tries to keep colleagues with recognizably Jewish surnames away from such cases.
In every hospital I worked at, there were signs posted about how it's a crime to threaten or engage in acts of violence towards healthcare workers. In Wisconsin, that's a Class H felony punishable by up to six years in prison and a $10,000 fine. Unfortunately, as we've all seen, certain groups do not get jail time. And if they do, Democrats like Gavin Newsom cut them loose.
And nurses will often tell you that the response by management is to ... blame the nurses when they are victims of violence. "What could you have done differently with this patient?" is a question asked far too often. Add in the political optics of Islam versus an American nurse, and who do you think the hospital, the media, and law enforcement are going to side with? Not the nurse.
Healthcare is a female-dominated profession in the U.S. and Germany, where at least 80 percent of nurses are women. That's in direct opposition to Islam, where women aren't allowed to work. As I have repeatedly said, in the clash of cultures, German women will lose. We already had an Islamic preacher vow to start stoning women for adultery once Muslims are the majority and enact Sharia law in Deutschland (and I'll remind you, as I always do, that being raped is considered adultery under Sharia law).
In Afghanistan, women are prohibited from working in healthcare (and every other field), which means they're also prohibited from getting medical attention, as they're not allowed to be treated by male doctors.
Can you see where this is heading?
Women will be driven out of the healthcare profession entirely, leaving even more staffing shortages than universal healthcare already causes. Those that do stay will be threatened, harassed, and abused. And when it comes to rationing care — which will inevitably happen — who do you think wins out? The illegal immigrant patient with the angry mob of relatives outside the ER or the American?
So remember this when socialist Democrats like Abdul El-Sayed tout Medicare for All. Germany is a glimpse into our future, and we should probably not go down that path.
