That concludes Townhall's coverage of the 2024 vice presidential debate between Republican Senator JD Vance and former Minnesota Governor Tim Walz.
JD Vance dominated the showdown. Tim Walz wasn’t terrible, but his overall performance was uneven and sometimes very sloppy. It was clear that Vance was the better debater.

Trump campaign on the debate:
"Senator Vance unequivocally won tonight's debate in dominating fashion. It was the best debate performance from any Vice-Presidential candidate in history.
Senator Vance spoke the truth, eloquently prosecuted the case against Kamala Harris' failed record, and effectively held Governor Tim Walz accountable for his lies on behalf of the Harris-Biden Administration.
Senator Vance also perfectly articulated the Trump-Vance vision to make America safe again with their plan to launch the largest mass deportation operation in history; to make America strong again with a peace through strength foreign policy agenda; and to make America wealthy again by cutting taxes, unleashing American energy dominance, and ending inflation.
Tonight, Senator Vance proved why President Trump chose him as his running mate. Together, they make the strongest and most dynamic presidential ticket ever, and they are going to win on November 5th." - Susie Wiles and Chris LaCivita

I always thought that Walz's constant droning on about minding one's business was annoying, as he did in his closing statement tonight, but it's even more ridiculous given how his state handled COVID in such a way. And why wasn't that discussed more?!
Thanks for following along with Townhall's coverage of the 2024 vice presidential debate between Republican Senator JD Vance and former Minnesota Governor Tim Walz.
Apparently, Tim Walz is a school shooter’s best friend. It’s been a fantastic night for JD Vance, who dominated it. It’s fitting that Facebook and censorship were brought up before closing statements.

By the end of this debate I’m pretty sure that Walz is gonna vote for JD

This seems to be what JD Vance was talking about when he criticized Walz on censorship...
“There’s no guarantee to free speech.” - Tim Walz pic.twitter.com/NUAcMiRqXQ

Another interruption of Vance from Margaret when he was making a salient and devastating point against Walz about censorship and violations of the First Amendment.
It's kind of rich here for Walz to be complaining about "a damning non-answer," no?
Walz says censorship is prohibiting the placement of sexually graphic books in public schools. That's what he really means by "book banning."
"January 6th was not FB ads!"
Nobody ever said that?!!? What is Walz talking about...?
Another great point from Vance bringing up how Democrats have questioned the results, especially with Hillary Clinton in 2016.
We don't need to be "laying the groundwork" for imprisoning one's opponents given that that's what the Biden-Harris DOJ is already looking to do!
Disappointing there haven't been any questions about Walz being in favor of mutilating "trans" kids.
"Well I've enjoyed the debate..." I guess he's begging for it to be over!
How is that an answer from Walz?
Good answer from Vance to remind how Trump said for people to protest "peacefully" on January 6. This is an excellent way of handling the issue of a "threat to democracy" when the real threat is censorship.
At the first commercial break, my #VPDebate focus group says by a 10-3 margin that JD Vance is winning.

That is a big deal since only 5 of them were leaning toward Trump-Vance when the debate began.

Can we please not start another massive government program that will just make childcare more expensive? Deregulation is the answer.
Topic is on paid family leave, which can be a bipartisan issue, annnnd Walz has devolved to ranting about Trump about tax credits for the wealthy...

When Nora O'Donnell mentioned how we were getting to another important topic on "rising prices of..." I was pleasantly surprised, thinking it would be about groceries, inflation, you know, THOSE key issues!
Very smart move from Vance to seize on the fearmongering from Democrats on this...!
DNC sending out Project 2025 emails right now, falsely claiming, "No matter what Vance says, Project 2025 is an 'undeniably Trump-driven operation' with deep ties to the Trump-Vance ticket."
