You have to hand it to Vice President Kamala Harris: when she screws up, she doesn’t do it half-heartedly.  Harris leans into bad decisions with the same energy and panache she has been honeycombing America, trying to pretend she “earned” the Democratic Party’s nomination for President.

With less than three weeks remaining until Election Day on November 5th, the amazing Israel Defense Forces delivered a gift-wrapped opportunity for Kamala to pretend to be, well, Presidential. In its latest surgical strike of the war that Hamas touched off with its bloody terror attacks last October 7th, the IDF made good on the promise to hunt down and kill Hamas mastermind Yahya Sinwar.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu (Remember him?  The ally our Vice President snubbed when he flew to Washington to address a joint session of Congress? That guy…) stated after confirmation of the Hamas leader’s death: “Today evil has suffered a heavy blow, but the task before us is not yet complete," adding that Israel "will continue with all our strength to try to release hostages taken by Hamas last year.”

What’s the Harris/Biden administration’s public posture these days? Our lame Secretary of State Antony Blinken has just issued a letter demanding that Israel “increase humanitarian aid to Gaza within 30 days or risk having America withhold funding for weapons supplied by the United States."  I’m no diplomat, but it seems to me that handcuffing our strongest ally at the very moment it has taken out Israel’s public enemy #1 is kinda dumb.

Which brings us back to Kamala Harris. Just 90 days ago, this woman was consulting her Ouija board, trying to figure out where Israel was on a map, but now she’s the standard bearer for Democrats in a race for the Presidency. So she had—emphasize had—a chance to stand on her own hind legs and break with Joe Biden by demanding that Blinken withdraw his absurd letter and declare that under a Harris White House, Israel would always know that America has the Jewish state’s back.

But that would further alienate Muslim voters in battleground state Michigan, so instead, Kamala bellied up to the microphones after Sinwar was sent to Boot Hill and delivered another boring, by-rote line that we should “make no mistake that Israel has a right to defend itself.”  Huh?  So does a cat in Springfield, Ohio. What’s her next revelation…that water is wet?

U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson—the man two heartbeats away from the Presidency—took a different approach.  He immediately issued a statement praising  Yahya  Sinwar’s death, declaring, “The brave men and women of the Israeli military have once again served justice. Yahya Sinwar, the vile, disgusting person who orchestrated the October 7th massacre, was the embodiment of evil and marked by hatred for all that is good in the world.”

On the Salem Media Group news program THIS WEEK ON THE HILL with Tony Perkins, Speaker Johnson revealed he had just called his counterpart in the Israeli Knesset Amir Ohana and congratulated Johnson on another of Prime Minister Netanyahu’s decisive actions. Johnson believes we need to stand unequivocally with Israel as it continues to prosecute the war with terrorists from Hamas, Hezbollah, or any other radical organizations that threaten the men, women, and children of Israel.

“Justice has once again been served by the brave men and women of the Israeli military,” Johnson declares. “Yahya Sinwar, the vile, disgusting person who orchestrated the October 7th massacre, is dead. Sinwar’s life was the embodiment of evil and marked by hatred for all that is good in the world. His death brings hope for all those who seek to live in freedom, and relief to Israelis he has sought to oppress.”

Unlike spineless creampuffs like Antony Blinken or Kamala Harris, Mike Johnson stands on principle rather than tailoring foreign policy or public statements to wrangle Muslim voters in Dearborn, Michigan. “Let this be a reminder to Hamas and all those who were involved in the October 7th attacks: you may try to terrorize and intimidate, but those who live under the banner of freedom will never surrender,” says Johnson.  “The eternal flame of liberty and the faith of the Jewish people will never be snuffed out by the darkness of barbarism and the cruelty of antisemitism.”

Later on THIS WEEK ON THE HILL, Speaker Johnson looked beyond the ragtag terrorist groups like Hamas and spoke directly of the real danger in the Middle East: Iran.  “We have to send a message to Iran that their actions will not be tolerated. They even have a plot against President Donald Trump, our Republican nominee to be the 47th President of the United States. I told Iran if you attempt to assassinate him, it will be the equivalent of an act of war.”

Unlike Kamala Harris, Mike Johnson is not running for President. He’s made 231 campaign stops this year across 40 states, focusing 100% on his mission to retain GOP control of the House of Representatives. But he stands head and shoulders above Vice President Harris regarding intelligence, patriotism, and presence on the world stage.

Hopefully, American voters—whether Democrats, Republicans, or Independents—will, at the end of the day, use the Mike Johnson standard as they evaluate the two candidates who actually are on the ballot on November 5th and not risk placing in the White House a vapid nothing like Kamala Harris.
