Steve was appointed Chief Executive Officer and Project Director of Global Laser Enrichment LLC (GLE) on September 1, 2021. In his role, Steve is responsible for providing strategic, operational, and project leadership of GLE, including the management of GLE’s day-day operations and the delivery of the company’s technology development and commercialization activities. Together with GLE’s President and Chief Commercial Officer, James Dobchuk, Steve also represents GLE with industry and government stakeholders. Prior to joining GLE, Steve spent thirteen years with GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy (GEH) and Global Nuclear Fuel (GNF) in a variety of project management, commercial, and business leadership roles, including five years (2009-2014) with GLE under GEH’s previous ownership and control. Most recently, Steve served as the Senior Vice President of Business Development for GEH, where he was instrumental in advancing GEH’s interests in the emerging small modular reactor and advanced nuclear fuel market segments. Prior to his career with GEH and GLE, Steve served eight years as a Submarine Warfare Officer and Naval Nuclear Propulsion Engineer in the United States Navy. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Systems Engineering from the United States Naval Academy, a Master’s Degree in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and an MBA from the University of North Carolina Kenan-Flagler School of Business. He is also a graduate of GE’s Junior Officer Leadership Program and its flagship executive Manager Development Course at Crotonville.
