Dr. Stephen Cutchins has been involved with Southern Evangelical Seminary for over 16 years, serving as a board member, faculty member, and now as the Executive Director of the newly launched Center for Innovative Training, Truth That Matters. In addition to his role at SES, he regularly preaches as a Teaching Pastor at Upstate Church in South Carolina, which was recently named one of the top 10 fastest-growing churches in the U.S. by Outreach Magazine. Stephen is a speaker for churches, conferences, and events nationwide. He has authored and contributed to books, including works published by Thomas Nelson Publishing. In addition to his Doctorate of Ministry, he is completing a Ph.D. in Higher Education Leadership Studies at Dallas Baptist University.
With over 20 years in education and ministry across four states, he led a large congregation as Senior Pastor for over 7 years. Since 2022, he has coached leaders nationwide through the North American Mission Board. He also served on the South Carolina Baptist Convention’s Executive Board (2018–2023), guiding strategic initiatives as Chairman of the Priority Advance Committee and contributing to safeguarding policies through his work on the SCBC Sexual Abuse Task Force.
