Two things that are not new: Biden’s border crisis and Biden’s lies. In addition to denying that a state of crisis exists at the U.S.-Mexico border despite record-breaking numbers of illegal immigrants streaming into the country, the president and his administration also blame Republicans for the chaos they’ve created. But now, and even more egregiously, Biden is pretending to feign concern about the consequences of the border crisis he denies in an attempt to exploit tragedy for a partisan attack.

Despite record-setting surges in the number of illegal immigrants streaming across the border and then released into the U.S. by the Biden administration, the president as recently as last week denied there was any “crisis” at the border. Embattled DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas has also continually refused to call the chaos a “crisis” even as the Democrat leaders of American cities confirm that the border crisis has created unsustainable levels of chaos.

Most damning, though, is the fact that the president and his administration don’t care about the welfare of would-be illegal immigrants — even when they die — unless their plight and tragic deaths can somehow be used in partisan attacks on the Republican leaders actually doing something to secure the border.

That was the case again this week when the Biden White House baselessly and falsely tried to blame Texas for the drowning deaths of three would-be illegal immigrants near Eagle Pass, Texas, after Governor Greg Abbott seized land in a park near the Rio Grande and barred federal access in order to enforce the international border. Notably, the Border Patrol union representing federal agents sided with Abbott over the Biden administration and praised the decision as a “force multiplier.”

Reliably, Biden’s friends in the mainstream media and Democrats on Capitol Hill parroted the White House’s lies about Governor Abbott and Texas’ personnel being responsible for the three migrant deaths, spreading it far and wide. Biden and his allies manufactured a false narrative in which they pretended to have concern about the welfare of illegal immigrants and blamed Texas and its Republican governor for enacting a policy that killed three people by refusing to allow federal agents to access land along the border to assist the illegal immigrants.

It was a total hoax.

As Biden’s own Department of Justice admitted in a filing as part of its ongoing legal harassment of Texas for securing its portion of the U.S.-Mexico border, the three illegal immigrants who drowned were dead for at least one hour before Texas officials were made aware of the situation by Mexican authorities. Even if Texas had allowed federal agents to enter the park along the river when they requested access, the outcome would have been no different.

This is also not the first time Biden has attempted to pin the blame for his deadly border crisis on an innocent party.

We all remember “whipgate,” the false narrative that claimed federal border agents were whipping Haitians near Del Rio, Texas in 2021. From the White House to the Department of Homeland Security, Democrat “leaders” smeared the good names and reputations of brave border agents who continue to struggle as they carry out their duties while the Biden administration refuses to allow them to secure the border.

The truth, which was obvious and known to senior Biden officials from the beginning, didn’t matter to the administration. Secretary Mayorkas, for example, knew that agents hadn’t whipped anyone before he repeated the smear, then acted like he did nothing wrong. It was all to seize on and propagate the false narrative to divert attention from the massive surge of illegal immigrants from around the world by putting the heat, incorrectly, on border agents.

Just as the border agents in Del Rio were innocent in 2021, Texas is not to blame for the drowning death of three migrants this week, nor is Governor Abbott, nor is the Texas National Guard.

Biden and his open-border policies, however, are to blame — but the president doesn’t actually care about those three deaths nor any of the other tragic ends met by those who risk the elements, arduous journey, or cartel violence to make the trek to the U.S.-Mexico border to answer his and Democrats’ invitation to exploit their open-border policies.

Biden doesn’t express concern about the fact that 40 percent of women and girls who make their way to the U.S.-Mexico border are sexually assaulted along the journey according to NGO estimates and reports. He doesn’t publicly condemn or threaten the cartel criminals setting up “rape tents” along the route to the U.S. border. He doesn't issue statements about the hundreds of illegal immigrants who die while trying to unlawfully enter the U.S. (more than 850 deaths were recorded in fiscal year 2022). He doesn’t change tact to stop the cartels from profiting off of his open border. He doesn’t create barriers to dissuade individuals from fording the Rio Grande’s waters. Nope, he does the opposite. And reserves his condemnation for Texas, because its governor is a Republican and Abbott is showing that the border could be secure — and lives could be saved — if Biden would only reverse his failed policies and end the crisis.
