Those of us who opposed the legalization of same‑sex marriage did so not only because of our faith, but also because we understood the broader cultural shift it would set in motion. We knew the debate was never simply about hospital visitation or inheritance rights. It was about redefining long‑standing social norms in ways that would inevitably expand into new categories of perverse sexual identities.

A decade later, the consequences are plain to see. We now face a nationwide surge in gender confusion, especially among children. Government schools are introducing these harmful concepts at increasingly younger ages, often without parental knowledge or consent.

A California school district has adopted “gender support plans” that effectively sideline parents, designating them as potential barriers to a child’s chosen identity. The plans contain provisions targeting so‑called unsupportive parents and require schools to provide confidential counseling services that, by law, must be kept hidden from parents once a child reaches age 12 and does not consent to disclosure.

Even more troubling is the emergence of rhetoric attempting to sanitize or rebrand toxic behavior termed “Minor Attracted Person” (MAP). Advocates claim this is merely another sexual identity that shouldn’t be stigmatized, a notion that is both dangerous and morally indefensible. This trajectory points toward the normalization of pedophilia, something we have already seen glimpses of in the Epstein network and its enablers. As a society, we cannot continue granting legitimacy to these distortions of human sexuality, especially within taxpayer‑funded institutions charged with educating children. It is time to draw firm boundaries and reject the steady erosion of moral standards in the name of ideological progress.

This trend becomes especially visible each year as government school districts across the country roll out elaborate Pride Month “celebrations” and curriculum materials.

The New York City Public Schools Pride Hub outlines how the nation's largest district integrates LGBTQ+ history directly into June lesson plans including classroom guides and students are encouraged district-wide to be involved in marches.

Recently, parents from a Los Angeles high school immediately confronted the school, demanding to know why families were never notified when a Rainbow Festival with LGBTQ resources took a different turn with sexually explicit dancing.

And even under a new law that likely renders this illegal, the Austin Independent School District is pressing forward with an ambitious Pride Week 2026.

These incidents are not isolated; they reflect a broader national conflict over who ultimately directs a child’s moral and sexual education, the state or the parent. And that conflict is now beginning to reach the courts.

On December 30, 2025, a Massachusetts District Court granted a preliminary injunction to a parent who sued after being denied the right to pull his five‑year‑old out of kindergarten LGBTQ activities. According to the legal brief, “The court ruled that public schools must give parents advanced notice and a clear opportunity to opt their children out of LGBTQ+-inclusive classroom instruction and activities if it conflicts with their religious beliefs.” This ruling marks an encouraging shift, one of the first clear signs that courts are beginning to push back and reassert long‑overdue protections for parental rights.

Last year’s withdrawal of major corporate sponsors for June’s Pride Month signaled a real cultural turning point, showing that the public is beginning to move back toward a moral culture that safeguards children.

Against the backdrop of declining corporate sponsorship and rising parental concern nationwide, Tennessee has acted by designating June as “Nuclear Family Month,” recognizing the foundational role of the nuclear family.

The resolution, recently signed into law by Governor Bill Lee, defines the nuclear family as “consisting of one husband, one wife, and any biological, adopted, or fostered children.” It declares it as “God’s design for familial structure” and “the bedrock of society since the creation of the world.” It further states that “strong nuclear families lead to better outcomes for children, including lower rates of poverty, crime, substance abuse, and mental health issues,” and that “the nuclear family is under attack in our beloved State and nation.”

For years, LGBTQ+ activists have hijacked the month of June, formerly known for Father’s Day and as the prime month of weddings. Now, in Tennessee, at least, instead of the false idol of “pride,” the state is recognizing the crucial role played by the nuclear family—mother, father, and children. I pray other states will follow suit.
