Reporter Who Simped for Biden Rewarded With Leadership Gig; Variety Eulogizes Actress for Hating Trump

DNC PR Firm – WHITE HOUSE CORRESPONDENTS' ASSOCIATION

  • The reward for dutiful service…to the former president.

The WHCA just announced that it has selected its new president. Courtney Subramanian of the Los Angeles Times has been tabbed to serve for the next year. It is being noted that she is possibly receiving this honor as a type of reward; she was the featured reporter in the controversy during the Joe Biden years when he was caught on camera with note cards that had reporters' names and pictures, as well as prepared questions so he would be able to answer them after they were called on in proper order.

Legalized Press-titution – THE NEW YORK TIMES

  • Made funnier because they promised it would not happen. 

There is a new round of dram surrounding Nicolas Kristof and his work. The man who is still contending with fallout from his Israeli rape-dogs reporting has a new issue to contend with.

At Semafor, Max Tani has noticed something about Nick’s work of late. The man ran for the governor’s mansion in Oregon, and after that failed bid, he came back to the Times. Upon his return it was said that Kristof would not write about those who gave funds to his campaign, or he would at least disclose if this was the case.

Tani combed through Nick’s work since his election bid, and found this was not followed:

In at least a dozen instances since then, Kristof failed to make those disclosures. And after an inquiry from Semafor, the Times is reviewing his work. “Previous political donations made by some people Nick Kristof mentioned in his columns should have been made more clear to readers,” Times spokesman Charlie Stadtlander said in an email. “Editors from Times Opinion are reviewing these articles to determine further clarifications for readers.”

BlueAnon – THE WEATHER CHANNEL

  • Annnnnd, as usual, when the prognostications are wrong, nobody says anything.

The old joke that the one profession offering job security is being a weatherperson. No matter how often you are incorrect, you never get held accountable. Then, extrapolate that with global warming climate predictions, and the silence on the errors is even more deafening.

In that mold, last week, many were predicting/hoping that there would be terrible weather for the UFC event held at the White House on Sunday. Getting in on the pre-fight negative hype was The Weather Channel, which posited that all manner of inclement weather could be impacting the proceedings. It turned out to be a very pleasant environment with no such threats experienced. And today, there is no mention of how wrong they had been. Even the failed promise yesterday of mosquitoes has led to crickets being heard today.

Prose & Contradiction – MS NOW

  • Do you plan on ever exposing this glee to which you allude?

As MS NOW begins the shuffling of its schedule, one move involves giving Jacob Soboroff his own show on Saturdays (replacing Ali Velshi). Jake introduced his show by essentially promising to pander to his audience. One thing you have to give him credit for, while he touts that he will be reporting, he is not above being completely biased as he does so.

His show is called “Connect,” and he insists it is about connecting with the people. The type of people he will be connecting with is the tell. He described how this year he has seen several gleeful experiences, and these all trend in the same direction: They are distinctly anti-Trump in nature.

“A lot of joy has informed what we've experienced together this year. Americans standing up and pushing back and demanding accountability from our government. From downtown Los Angeles to the halls of 26 Federal Plaza here in New York City, to a Charlotte church, and to the streets of Minneapolis.”

We here at RFTH have to say, seeing the bitter people involved in those events, one thing we would ever describe them as is “joyful.”

Actress Anne Schedeen has passed away at the age of 77. Odds are you do not know her by name, but she is most notable for appearing in the NBC hit sitcom “Alf” back in the 1980s. Yet, despite a career with dozens of credits dating back to the mid-1970s, Variety thinks this was her most notable characteristic.
