Along with Israel, the two nations launched their respective air campaigns that wiped out most of the country’s political leaders, its ability to wage war, and its missile manufacturing infrastructure. A ceasefire was announced in April—Iran has violated it daily. Since then, gas prices have spiked, creating a domestic issue Democrats can exploit in the 2026 midterms. Last week, a deal was announced, but there seem to be a million ways for it to collapse.

At the same time, they realize this war has affected Trump and the GOP. If they could put the Democrats in power, using the high oil prices and their economic impact, maybe they would amplify the situation, cause it to collapse, and then ensure Trump bears the consequences, counting on impeachment. The funding for Epic Fury would definitely end, along with a new effort to curb Trump under some war powers resolution.
