Some things should not be complicated.
God made men and women. Children belong to their parents. Boys should not compete in girls’ sports. A nation has the right to defend its borders. Taxpayers should not be forced to reward people who broke our laws. And American elections should be decided by American citizens.
That is why the SAVE America Act should already be sitting on President Trump’s desk.
There is no excuse.
Every Republican who has ever looked into a camera and promised to fight for election integrity ought to be fighting and working together to get this done. Not talking about it. Not fundraising off it. Not hiding behind process. Pass it.
Alabamians understand this because Alabamians still have common sense.
You should have to prove you are an American citizen before you register to vote. That does not require another hearing, another commission, or another strongly worded speech from a career politician.
Citizens vote. Noncitizens do not.
That is the whole point of having a country.
Washington loves to complicate what is simple. The political class benefits from confusion because confusion gives them cover. They say they support the idea, then blame the process. They say they stand with President Trump, then blame leadership. They promise courage in Alabama and practice caution in Washington.
I am tired of it.
Alabama does not belong to the D.C. political class. This Senate seat does not belong to party bosses, consultants, lobbyists, or career politicians who think our state is just another piece on their chessboard.
It belongs to the men and women who get up every morning, go to work, raise their children, worship God, follow the law, and expect the people they send to Washington to do what they said they would do.
As a Navy SEAL, I was trained to identify the threat, close the distance, and finish the mission.
As a law enforcement officer, I learned that laws mean nothing if leaders do not have the will to enforce them.
As the CEO of Covenant Rescue Group, I have seen what happens when broken systems, weak borders, and cowardly leadership give evil room to operate. I have taken criminal illegal aliens into custody. I have seen predators exploit every opening weak leaders leave behind.
That is why the SAVE America Act matters.
This is not just about voter registration. This is a test of whether the people running this country still believe American citizens should decide America’s future.
The Left knows exactly what is at stake. That is why they fight proof of citizenship. That is why they oppose voter ID. That is why they defend open borders and loose election laws. They understand that when the line between citizen and noncitizen is weakened, the power of the American people is weakened with it.
But Democrats are doing what Democrats do.
The real failure is when Republicans know better and still refuse to act.
If the silent filibuster is standing in the way, then end the silent filibuster. Make them stand on the floor. Make them speak. Make them vote. Make every senator put his name beside a decision the American people can see.
Alabama wants something different.
Alabama wants someone who will take Alabama’s problems to Washington, not bring Washington’s excuses back home to Alabama. We need someone who will bang down doors to get President Trump’s election integrity agenda passed, not someone who waits his turn and asks permission from the D.C. elite.
I am not owned by them.
I am not afraid of them.
And I am done with excuses.
Pass the SAVE America Act.
Require proof of citizenship.
Protect the ballot box.
Stop letting career politicians hide behind procedure while the left attacks the foundation of this country.
American elections either belong to American citizens, or they do not.
I have fought tougher fights than this.
