Artisanally-Crafted Narratives – ASSOCIATED PRESS
Did we miss the reports of a mass shooting taking place with flintlocks?!
The AP has come out with a new call for the banning of firearms, but this one takes a decidedly strange turn. Our dismay prevents us from exploring this one too deeply.
First, bear in mind what the primary argument we hear from gun grabbers anytime the 2nd Amendment is thrown in their faces. They just LOVE to declare that the founders only meant that right to be applied to the guns of their era, not for the “weapons of war” that citizens can own today. (Of course, they choose to ignore the counterargument, that the founders intended the 1st Amendment to only apply to pamphlets and soapbox speeches, so any lecture they have on electronic media means they should shut up!)

Well, the AP has curiously come out with the latest gun-nabbing lecture and they now say even those revolutionary-era guns need to be banned. What leads to this thinking will forever be a mystery.
A musket from 1776 can fire a lead ball at a velocity of around 1,000 feet per second.

Imagine what that can do to a human body. Yet under federal and most state laws, it’s exempt from gun regulations. Many antique or replica guns aren’t considered firearms and even convicted… pic.twitter.com/RBT5ihazdA
Race To The Bottom – NBC NEWS
Sounds like those Chi-Comm spies inserted in government might be bringing the bad name, unless that is racist to point out.
It will never fail to amuse when a blatantly wrong and easily denigrated activity arises, and the press, for numerous reasons, will refuse to condemn that activity. For the latest, we have the tale of Eileen Wang, who was serving as the mayor of Arcadia, California, and just stepped down after the FBI announced that she had admitted to acting as an agent for the Chinese government.
This is pretty damned alarming to hear – unless you work at NBC News, because then you see something else that is alarming. Reporting on this news were Alicia Victoria Lozano and Doha Madani, and what concerned them was NOT a communist government having its tendril into our own governmental leadership positions, but what this could mean for Chinese Americans who may become targeted with mean comments!
But racist comments began to appear on social media feeds soon after FBI Director Kash Patel announced on X the case against Wang. Advocates said they are concerned that this rhetoric is part of a long history of fear and discrimination that has proliferated for generations in regard to Asian communities, especially Chinese immigrants. Experts who spoke to NBC News said Asian people in the U.S. are often treated as perpetual outsiders, which can motivate violence in some cases.
Well done, NBC, way to keep your knee on the pulse of the REAL issues here.
The resignation of a Southern California mayor who pleaded guilty to acting as a foreign agent for China has sparked backlash and reignited fears of anti-Asian discrimination. https://t.co/Vp2B5bDRGD

Pre-written Field Reports – VARIETY
It would have helped had you taken that thought through to the end.
Right now, there is some…controversy, we have to guess…about the upcoming summer blockbuster epic “The Odyssey”, directed by Christopher Nolan. There has been some pushback on the film based on the advanced content used to promote the film, namely that the sword & sandals epic set a couple of centuries B.C. has a starkly diverse cast. Many of the female Greek characters are being played by women of color, which some have said is not actually an accurate portrayal of the period.
Variety has seen this, and it is lashing out on behalf of the film,
From the team that brought you “Why is Snow White Latina?,” “Why are there Black people in ‘The Rings of Power’?,” and “Star Wars has gone woke” comes the latest online onslaught against the diverse cast of “The Odyssey.”

The problem with this attempt at insulting those supposedly “outraged” at those examples? Each of them was an abject failure, which lends credence to those you are attempting to belittle.
News Avoidance Syndrome – VARIOUS OUTLETS
Are we not doing the gnashing of the teeth over democracy anymore?
Remember in the run-up to the 2024 election when the nearly daily claim was that Donald Trump would be destroying our democracy and shredding the Constitution if he were to be reelected? Yeah, well, that concern is no longer in place; attacking our democracy is apparently the trendy new position to take.
Kamala Harris recently held a video conference with Democrat thought leaders (yes, we know), and in her preamble, she said that all ideas were on the table — and she offered up a slew of her own. These are rather disturbing suggestions, according to the people who not long ago were shrieking about the destruction of our norms and the bedrock of our democracy. These are some of the Constitution-defying brain showers Kammy offered to her think tank:
Ending the Electoral College
Packing the Supreme Court
Ignore the separation of powers by having the Senate override the makeup of SCOTUS
Making Washington, D.C. into a state.
All of which is essentially a losing candidate wanting to rig elections in favor of her party. Remember when the media were against that very behavior???
Kamala Harris is now calling for Democrats to hold a “No Bad Idea Brainstorm” where they discuss:

- Making Puerto Rico and D.C. states
