Thanks to the inexplicable soaring personal wealth of elected officials, leftists now must rally against billionaires instead of millionaires. It is a predicament caused by progressives who have made millions since entering public office.
But not all those boujee billionaires are bad. After all, some well-known billionaires fund progressive/socialist/communist campaigns, protests, and riots.
Leftists say they hate rich people, but they obviously love their money. They ferociously seek to gain control of government, corporations and tax codes to loot money and power. These elitist hypocrites seek to regulate every aspect of life and every penny of wealth, while using regular folks as pawns.
“Hypocrite” is a curse word with regular folks. I grew up in a working-class family in a factory town. The worst thing I ever heard my father say about another person was that they were a hypocrite. I rarely ever heard him say a negative word about anyone, but I remember him sharply commenting about an outwardly religious man who cheated in business. To be a hypocrite was worse than telling a lie; it was living a lie.
I might also add that Jesus had lots to say about hypocrites. He wasn’t so keen on them either. My mom used to say, “Class has nothing to do with money.” And I would say that being “elite” or “regular folk” has little to do with it either. It is an attitude, more than a statement of position, money or heritage. I know rich, influential people who are regular folk.

“Regular folk” may be hard to define because it is easier to say what “regular folk” are not. Regular folks don’t worry about controlling the lives of others because they are busy trying to do the best they can for themselves and their immediate families. On the flip side, regular folks don’t want other people (read elites) telling them how to live their lives. Regular folks don’t look down their noses at others, because their noses are usually to the grindstone. Regular folks, while often living paycheck to paycheck, don’t look to others for handouts, but they are happy to help other folks in need when they can. Regular folks who become rich, but stay regular folks, never forget their roots.
There are some folks who, because of their wealth and/or influence, would probably fall into the category of elite, but who are clearly regular folk. I know firsthand that Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas and his lovely wife, Ginni, are regular folk. I know quite a few wealthy and powerful people who are regular folks.
By definition, elites are those who, by virtue of their economic status, position or education, think that they should be the arbiters of all things and therefore they can impose their views on the rest of us.
The self-ordained progressive/socialist ruling class, the elites, are puffed up with pride for their work on behalf of the “common man,” while they are advocating for policies that hurt regular folks. They suggest we carpool and ride bikes, while they fly in private jets. They enjoy America’s freedoms while undermining the military that keeps us free. They hail Communist dictators and attack successful entrepreneurs who provide jobs. They take away the guns that law-abiding regular folks use for self-defense, while they are followed around with armed bodyguards. They shamelessly work to take money out of the hands of regular folks in the form of higher taxes, to support their inefficient government programs, riddled with fraud and abuse, and earmarks for their donors.
And most offensive of all, they hurt regular folks while they try to pretend they are regular folks. Conjure the image of former U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry asking, “Can I get me a hunting license here?” Or Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) saying, “I’m going to get me a beer.” Or Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) pretending he knows how to grill a hamburger. They engage in “fake-believe” and think we are too dumb to notice.
Just look at Ronald Reagan. He was a celebrity and then a politician, but he was always "regular folk." He understood them because he never stopped being one of them.
"I’m convinced that today the majority of Americans want what those first Americans wanted: A better life for themselves and their children; a minimum of government authority. Very simply, they want to be left alone in peace and safety to take care of the family by earning an honest dollar and putting away some savings. This may not sound too exciting, but there is something magnificent about it. On the farm, on the street corner, in the factory and in the kitchen, millions of us ask nothing more, but certainly nothing less than to live our own lives according to our values—at peace with ourselves, our neighbors and the world." - Ronald Reagan, nationally televised address, July 6, 1976.
After a long period of leftists assaulting the values of regular folks in the 1970’s, Middle America said, “ENOUGH,” and they ushered in Reagan. And they did it again two (or maybe three) times when they elected a New York billionaire who seemed, oddly enough, an awful lot like “regular folk.”
Today’s leftists aren’t just hypocritical elitists. They are unashamedly socialist, communist, and violent. The very survival of the republic depends on regular folks once again saying “ENOUGH!” in the midterms.
