Educated to Death

Left-wing lunatics are trending from the educated class.

If one knew nothing about the Holocaust and was told about the mass murder of millions of Jews and others, he might ask who did it. Let’s say that we won’t tell him and ask who he thinks was behind it. We would not be surprised if he concluded that the killers were a bunch of uneducated thugs, like those in South Africa who sing about killing whites in the country. None of them seems to be a brain surgeon. Our subject might be surprised to learn that the Nazis were heavily associated with German intellectuals, universities, and the social elite. This model of academe in the name of violence and destruction apparently is alive and well in the West.

Whereas Lee Harvey Oswald had a quite difficult educational experience prior to his enlisting in the U.S. Marines at age 17, Cole Thomas Allen is the epitome of American educational success. He has a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Caltech. Think about that. Caltech is one of the top engineering schools in the country, on par with MIT. He didn’t stop there, but also took a Master's degree from Cal State in Computer Science. He might be the most highly credentialed attempted assassin in history. He was a teacher and was even awarded “Teacher of the Month” in Torrance, California. While no rational person would expect 100 percent educational success from U.S. institutions of higher education, how did this highly-trained, technologically sophisticated person become an attempted murderer of the president of the United States and his immediate associates? The short answer is that education today—even in the sciences and engineering—has an ideological component against what we used to consider to be American values.

Many have noted that protests against any topic du jour—Tesla/Musk, ICE, Trump, Israel—always seem to include a heavy dose of middle-aged white women and retirees. Many of those present are university-educated. Renee Nicole Good, who directed her car toward an ICE agent in Minnesota prior to being shot dead, was a graduate of Old Dominion. Luigi Mangione was also a trained engineer, from the University of Pennsylvania, no less, when he gunned down UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson in New York. While highly educated people have much lower overall crime and incarceration rates than those who do not finish high school, we have seen in the recent past a good number of ideologically-driven crimes by people whose academic credentials are outstanding. Whenever someone reminds me that I graduated from Harvard, I note that the Unabomber did as well.

Educational institutions from K-12 through universities have been singularly captured by the Left. Textbooks, teachers' unions, course offerings—everything is skewed toward a left-leaning, anti-God, anti-American, and anti-capitalism worldview. A fellow who graduated from Harvard recently stated that one of his philosophy professors put up daily the number of dead in Gaza as per the Hamas-run Health Ministry. He did not publicize data on Jews killed during the original Hamas attack or how many IDF soldiers were killed in the following war. Nope. He wanted his students and the world to know how many Gazans—most being Hamas affiliates—had been killed in fighting. Reports on Harvard’s failures to address antisemitism noted the role of faculty and administration in furthering the problems on campus. If one thought that it was just the dimwitted students and their off-campus Muslim friends, he would be mistaken. Professors chose sides and used their positions of power to put forth anti-Israel and anti-Jewish messaging. Would it be such a surprise that some large percentage of recent Harvard graduates take their Israel-averse and Jew-loathing views to their new places of work and the communities where they will go to live?

There is no escaping the fact that modern Western education involves the provision of information, the teaching of how to think and analyze, and finally a strong helping of ideological brainwashing. Students can make their own conclusions and reject any political or ideological slop given by their professors or members of the administration. But still, what if the slogans and lies stick? What if some percentage of young students and graduates believe that Israel committed a genocide for which there is no empirical evidence of it happening? What if they accept that Donald Trump is a dictator, though he cannot get his appointments or preferred legislation through a Republican Senate that is tepid to his program? Smart students would ostensibly scream that they are being sold lies. But some may simply accept that garbage because it fits with their worldview and makes life on campus easier by being with the majority of their peers. American schools vote for and contribute overwhelmingly to Democrats, starting with Bernie Sanders and moving left. There is no reasonable solution to this problem, and setting up another few “conservative” colleges will not blunt the mind-numbing indoctrination in our supposed institutions of higher learning.

The recent wannabe presidential assassin left a manifesto—how can one be a lefty killer without one? It was the usual hodgepodge of lefty gobbledygook and incoherent mumbling about apologizing to different people. The engineer turned shooter accused Donald Trump of being “a pedophile, rapist, and traitor.” Where would he get such ideas? Is there any evidence for any of these claims? The last one who called Donald Trump a rapist cost his employer $15 million. Several key sources have stated flat-out that Donald Trump did nothing with Jeffrey Epstein and actually drummed him out of Mar-a-Lago. So how did a fellow with two degrees from top schools simply hold wrong views? Why did he attend a “No Kings” rally when Donald Trump still acts like a mere mortal president who runs the country according to the rulings of federal judges?

There is no immediate solution to the problem of intense brainwashing from the Left. The more famous of them in politics, sports, Hollywood, and “news” are not averse to calling Donald Trump and his associates Hitler and the like. Either they come out and say that they have to take care of them, or let their followers understand for themselves that when there is a Hitler out there, somebody needs to get rid of him. The only reasonable solution would be for the Left to tone it down, but they can’t. Since they have no political program that benefits normal American citizens, they need to use a lot of smoke, mirrors, foul language, and threats of violence to keep their voters engaged. They are like the character of a movie who stood to die should his pulse go low. They can’t get rid of the “fascist” and similar rhetoric because they might have to start talking policy. Have you noticed all the billionaires and large companies leaving California prior to the potential enactment of a tax on unrealized gains? The Democrats substitute violent talk for policy, and the end result is shooters and people attempting to kill ICE agents doing their jobs.

Charlie Kirk was murdered after he was verbally attacked by many on the Left. He was a very bright and gifted speaker and knew how to handle lefties and defeat their arguments. As such, he was dangerous. The same for Donald Trump, who is exposing the fraud and criminal conspiracy arranged by his predecessor in the guise of the “Russian hoax.” As I wrote previously, when one does not have a solution, he needs to get rid of the problem. The Left cannot be tamed; it must be defeated at the ballot box and made irrelevant. The U.S. needs the SAVE America Act to allow for fair and honest elections.

There was a time when going to college was a privilege; today, it is just one more stop on the way to intellectual destruction.
