Cole Allen’s leftism and his attempt to kill President Trump are not the least bit surprising to anyone who knows history and leftist philosophy. Violence, hatred, and lying are cardinal principles of leftist doctrine, but certainly not their only evils. If I were, in the title, to list every vile attribute the Left believes in and practices as part of their ideology, this column would only consist of one long title. So, I’m going to stop with violence, hatred, and lying, prove that those are part of leftism, and describe other leftist barbarities in other articles. Let’s look at the above three.
1. Violence
Who are the greatest mass murderers in human history? Well, there have been plenty, but leftists top the list, as follows:
- Mao Zedong, China (1949-76). The “Great Leap Forward” in the late 1950s/early 1960s caused deaths by famine, forced labor, and executions, which the best historians estimate to be between 36 and 45 million; the true number will never be known. Add to those figures the deaths during the Cultural Revolutions (1966-76) and various other inhuman savageries of Mao during his life, and it is generally estimated that Mao killed between 60-70 million innocents in his life. Even leftists have to admit he killed at least 15 million. They always estimate low, of course, so that their heroes won’t seem so bad.
- Joseph Stalin (1920s-53). Stalin’s various terrors and butcheries caused the deaths of 20 to 60 million Russians during his dictatorship (again, the low figure is the leftist figure and almost certainly understated). His purges, forced labor in gulags, famines, executions, and deportations caused these millions of deaths. And this doesn’t include the oppression and poverty that his socialist policies produced. People under Mao and Stalin lived in horrible misery. That’s always what leftist policies create—for those who survive. Give the leftists power in America, and the results will be the same. I wish I could get Americans to understand that.
- Adolf Hitler (1933-45). Because the Left has controlled the education system, communication, and the media in the West for the past several decades, Adolf Hitler is generally considered the greatest monster who ever lived. But when it came to killing people, Hitler, compared to Mao and Stalin, was an inept bungler. His “Holocaust” is attributed with at least six million Jewish deaths, and several million other Romanians, Poles, and political opponents could be added to that. The deaths of World War II can be laid at his—and Joseph Stalin’s—doorsteps as well. The Left likes to claim that Hitler is a “rightist,” but he plainly stated, “We are socialists.” Socialism is not a “rightist” philosophy, nor is totalitarianism.
- Pol Pot (1975-79). This Cambodian leftist gangster’s death toll is estimated at one and a half to three million, with, again, the higher figure probably being closer to the truth. While the sheer numbers aren’t as great as the others on this list, three million represented at least 25 percent to 33 percent of the Cambodian population. That percentage is probably the highest in human history.
-Xi Jinping (2012-current). Xi is not generally placed among history’s greatest “mass murderers,” but his Wuhan Virus (decorously called “COVID-19” to protect China, as leftists wish to do) is responsible, so far, for at least 7.1 million deaths around the world. And that figure is according to the China-controlled World Health Organization, so it’s probably much higher. I personally have no doubt that Xi turned that virus loose deliberately; I lived in China under Xi, and I know what kind of man he is. Xi’s numbers, when you add Uyghurs, forced organ harvesting, and other murders, may end up, by the time he is finished, rivaling Mao Zedong’s.
Violence. It’s a leftist trait. Is there any surprise that they have tried to assassinate Donald Trump three times and succeeded in killing Charlie Kirk?
2. Hatred
We all know just how rabid the Left is in its hatred of Mr. Trump, Christianity, America’s Founders, the traditional virtuous principles of American patriotism—these are sine qua non of leftism. Hatred is part of their ideology. Indeed, it is demanded of them. Read Vladimir Lenin, of Marxism-Leninism fame: “We must hate—hatred is the basis of communism. Children must be taught to hate their parents if they are not communists.” And he said, “Hatred is truly the ‘beginning of all wisdom.’”
The “useful idiots” (Lenin’s term) have no clue their “masters” believe it, but like sheep following their shepherds, the Democratic Party masses practice this vile hatred of everything their leaders tell them to hate.
3. Lying
Politicians, of every stripe, lie all the time. We all know this. However, lying is a cardinal “virtue” of leftism. Here is Lenin again: “A lie told often enough becomes the truth.” The Left questions whether Lenin actually said this; it may have been said by a Cuban communist—if that makes any difference. Either way, it’s what the Left practices.
But there’s more. Joseph Goebbels, the National Socialist (“Nazi”) propagandist, had much to say about lies: “If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it.” “If you tell a lie long enough, it becomes the truth.” “The bigger the lie, the more it will be believed.” I’ll have more from Goebbels in a subsequent column, but this is sufficient for current purposes. Again, because of the Nazis' opposition to communism, they have long been portrayed (by the Left) as a “right-wing” group. But just like there are different kinds of “rightists,” there are different brands of “socialists” as well. Hitler claimed to be a socialist, as did Goebbels: “As socialists, we are opponents of the Jews…” Yes, the Left in America today, as we have seen, are Antisemitic as well.
Violence, hatred, lying—all major foundations of modern leftism. And all are very much in evidence in America today. Indescribably evil people.
