When you don’t have a solution, you put an end to the problem.
My late father was a professor for more than four decades. He always told us that if we had good teachers equal to the fingers on one hand, then we had been very fortunate. One such teacher I had in sixth grade. She told us that most people swear when they aren’t able to express themselves, and while there are those few who know how to swear for effect, the recent potty-mouthification of the Democratic Party and Weirdo Right would seem to support her thesis. When one doesn’t have a solution, then he needs to dispose of the problem. Joseph Goebbels had Brownshirts let mice out in theaters showing the movie version of All Quiet on the Western Front. When Bedlam took over, the movie was shut down, as were the theaters. Shutting someone up is often the only alternative when one doesn’t have a real answer to offer.
The most recent apparent attempt on Donald Trump’s life (I write “apparent” as there are claims that the shooter said that he was gunning for any of Trump’s people) is just in keeping with the Democrats wishing to get rid of the messenger and not address the interests and wishes of the nearly 80 million people who sent him to Washington. Because Donald Trump has the best political antennae in generations, he always lands on the winning side of 80:20 issues. As such, the Democrats are either forced to join him — which they rarely do — or run to the other side in knee-jerk fashion. The latter behavior has put the Democrats on the losing side of virtually every subject:
- Higher taxes
- Bigger trade imbalances
- Guys with your daughters in the locker room
- Fully open border
- You footing the medical and food for millions of illegal aliens
- Endless immigration from countries that are anti-West
- Higher energy prices
- Iran with a nuclear bomb to destroy the East Coast of America
- Abandon Israel to the jihadi wolves
- Censor the internet for wrongthink
Since the Democrats have nothing to offer the voters, they have to allow for the possibility of cheating at the ballot box: mail-in ballots, counting ballots that come in days after the vote (now banned by the Supreme Court), selective ballot harvesting, no picture ID, etc. And since Donald Trump is the poster boy for MAGA, their thinking goes that if you get rid of him, then you have solved the problem. And while the destruction of Japan’s Yamamoto and Iran’s Suleimani left their countries bereft of successful military leaders, MAGA is not Donald Trump; rather, Donald Trump is the representative of the millions who were sidelined by Obama and the “elite” who felt that they owned the joint. Kurt Schlichter has written several times that they will miss Donald Trump. What comes after him will be more militantly MAGA and will not answer the media when they call his cellphone.
What is amazing about the Left is how they call their enemies what they themselves are. Imagine someone who knows nothing, which today is not very hard. He sits down in the UN to hear a discussion on the Gaza-Israel situation since October 7, 2023. What he would hear is that Israel committed a full-scale genocide, starved the locals, destroyed their property in order to recolonize the strip and other lies. What he would not hear would be the truth: Hamas terrorists and their Gazan friends came into Israel to rape and murder Jews because they were Jews: genocide. The Israeli hostages were actually starved for food, unlike their well-fed minders. And Israel has stated clearly that it has no geographical designs on Gaza and only wishes to create a situation where its citizens in the south never again face terror or rockets. Donald Trump was accused of a sexual assault so old that New York had to pass a special grandfather law in order to allow the case to be brought to court. While Trump was accused of such behavior, Eric Swalwell and other Democratic officials actually participated in sexual abuse and worse. The Trump children are accused of enriching themselves, while erstwhile “painter” Hunter Biden cut the deals to enrich himself and the clueless “Big Guy”. Republicans are accused of “destroying democracy”, while the Democrats were only too happy to have the FBI work with Facebook and Twitter to stifle speech they found problematic, like saying that there were problems with the COVID-19 mRNA vaccines. Whatever the Democrats accuse, bring a mirror to them so that they can learn about themselves.
And while not all on the Left go so far as the Wisconsin brewery that regretted another failed attempt on the president’s life, those Democrats in Congress and state houses never seem to be too strong in their boilerplate condemnations. “Yeah, we’re against political violence. What’s on TV tonight?” It would be bad manners to come out and encourage the outright murder of the president and his men, but they don’t seem too distraught when people try periodically to kill the president. Their language often suggests the same. The age-old problem of the Democrats and Republicans playing different games is reflected in their behavior. The Democrats’ only goal is to take and hold power. They don’t care how: cheat, lie, steal, hijack elections. And once they have power, they will do their best to keep it. Look at their counting of ballots for days in 2020. Look at them dumping Grandpa Big Guy when he didn’t know which way to face during the debate with Donald Trump. Meanwhile, the Republicans are still into elections, governing according to the Constitution, due process, writing and passing bills — all of the quaint aspects of the Republic which were its core until the lefty Democrats decided that two parties are one too many. U.S. Democrat Rep. Nancy Pelosi (CA-11) kept "Pants Down" former U.S. Democrat Rep Eric Swalwell in Congress, while she invented a new custom of throwing off Republicans from the J6 Committee because they might ask the wrong kind of questions. Kamala Harris became a nominee without a single primary vote to her name. Barack Obama couldn’t be bothered to save American staff in Libya because he would have had to admit that Al-Qaeda was still potent a month before a key election. The Democrats play to win; the Republicans play — if at all — to be right. If the Save America Act was good for Democrats and they had a majority in the Senate, do you think that their doofus leader would table it and not jam it through like Obamacare?
Oftentimes, I see a young orthodox Jew praying on a bus in the morning. On the one hand, it’s heartwarming to see someone praying to God on a bus. On the other hand, it means that he got up too late to pray at the synagogue and after getting his shoes on, he ran to school and prayed on the way. The Secret Service seemed to react quickly and effectively in stopping the would-be assassin. But how did he get so close to the president? How did the hotel not have a ring of steel around it to prevent the fellow from getting anywhere near the venue? Like the yeshiva kid, the second part of the story looks great, but one has to ask about the first act. Kari Lake said that nobody asked to see her ID and she just waved her ticket to get into the ballroom. Maybe they should check to see if anyone over at the Secret Service is betting on Polymarket regarding the president’s health. This is getting ridiculous. I still don’t know how in Butler they let the president get up: who said that there was only one shooter, only a minute after the shots?
