An Open Letter to President Trump From an American Mother

Dear Mr. President,

I am writing to thank you. I don’t think you have heard much of that lately. But I think it’s about time someone said it out loud where the media and naysayers can’t ignore it.

I remember sitting in your office in January 2023 after you announced you were running again. I was there at Mar-a-Lago that day as well. The energy in the room was palpable. Two months later, when we met in your office, I saw something unmistakable in your countenance. You have seen the security briefings. You knew what was coming. You knew where our nation was heading. And I think you knew you were the only one who could alter the course.

I felt the unwavering conviction in your eyes as you took the time to listen to the heart of a mother deeply concerned for the future of our country. I could see the weight you carried. I heard it in your voice. You knew what it meant to enter the race. The sacrifices you would have to make. The decisions you would have to bear. What you would be up against. What it would mean for your family. But the resolve in your face was clear—you were fully committed to face all odds and fight for the country you so dearly love.

That was the day I knew the United States of America had a fighting chance, and I pledged to do everything in my power to ensure you won.

For two years, our mighty movement of moms dedicated our time, talents, and resources to the most important election in our lifetime. We crossed the country mobilizing moms to get out the mom vote, holding Moms Walkathon door-knocking and texting campaigns. We knocked on thousands of doors, saturated social media outlets, and sent millions of messages reaching eight million moms—all on a fledgling budget we often covered ourselves.

We didn’t do it because we wanted a job, a paycheck, a Cabinet position, or an ambassadorship. We did it because we needed you back in the White House. We needed our children protected, our borders secured, parents' divine rights respected, and the political prisoners released from the Gulag. You were our greatest hope to restore the dream of America. Unlike other presidents, you didn’t let us down. You actually kept your promises and eagerly went to work as soon as you walked off the Inaugural stage.

I wish more people recognized the remarkable accomplishments of your administration in just one year. We still have a major fight ahead of us. A lot of damage has been done over the last 100 years. But because of you, sir, we now have a place in the fight, a real chance of winning—not just an election but freedom itself.

Finally, we have someone in the White House who has the courage and conviction to make the hard decisions and follow through.

Thank you for ignoring the naysayers and doing what is in the best interest of the country, masterfully managing tariffs to level the playing field and bring production back to the United States.

Thank you for securing our borders and making our communities safe again, removing the mass number of criminal illegal aliens that have flooded our country in the last decade. We have enough of our own criminals to deal with. We don’t need to import everyone else’s, too.

Thank you for purging the federal government of a barrage of unnecessary employees, duplication of offices, and fraudulent spending that those of us out here in the real world are tired of paying for.

Thank you for the child tax credits, which have given families a much-needed break in our tax burden. Thank you for standing with law enforcement, supporting and encouraging small businesses, and alleviating the heavy regulatory burden on our farmers.

Most of all, Mr. President, thank you for standing up to the world’s bullies so our children don’t have to live under the threat of a nuclear war as we did for half a century during the Cold War. Thank you for working with Israel—to protect our safety and interests at home. And thank you for activating our military when prudent and necessary, with swift force and a clear objective to win and come home.

The same resolute conviction I saw in you three years ago as we sat in your office at Mar-a-Lago is the same resolute conviction I see every time you stand before the nation. I see it when you sign a bill, speak with your Cabinet members, talk with the media.

Yes, there is a lot to unwrap and redirect, and we have a long way to go to get our nation back on firm ground. But the foundation has been laid, the blueprint written, and I have no doubt your time in office will be remembered as a light that rose from the darkness, breathing life back into the heart and soul of America.

And as a mom, I just want to say thank you!
