  • But when a Democrat does it…(crickets).

This weekend, the press has been enraged over the fact that FBI Director Kash Patel attended a hockey game and celebrated with Team USA. That monster. But funny thing, there was another case of a politician in Milano who somehow did not receive any level of discernible scorn.

While Patel is accused of using taxpayer money to see the game, and possibly cobbled together official meetings to justify the trip, what of Gretchen Whitmer? She was also in Milan, and she was also attending meetings, and since they were part of a “trade mission,” it was an official taxpayer trip. And there she was posting videos of herself at the women’s hockey game.

This is not regarded as a scandal because that is (D)ifferent.

  • Your exclusive content was…from social media?

Among the most unwound about the Kash Patel hockey “scandal” was Carol Leonnig. She, along with Ken Dilanian, was among the most energized in “breaking” this story, if that is what happened.

In the course of their excitable weekend, Leonnig stated she and Dilanian received video of the Patel visit in the locker room, “from multiple sources.” Uh-huh, the videos that…were uploaded to social media…by a number of the players from the team. Real exclusive stuff, that.

I could cite one other source that Kash Patel was with the hockey team to help out Carol:

Kash Patel.

Anti-Social Media – HUFFINGTON POST

  • We bet their readers loved it, however.

Over the weekend, the Huffington Post felt the need to join in on all of the bile the press had been spewing about the country during the Olympics. From prodding athletes to trash the country, to praising Eileen Gu while never challenging her to be critical of China, to slamming those on the Right for SUPPORTING skater Alysha Liu, the media have been insufferable.

But there can only be one winner. Monica Torres took the Gold with her post appealing to anyone else feeling “discomfort” over being an American when watching the Olympics. To see how far she went off course, look at the ratio her post received, standing right now at 27,000/3K.

  • There was a time when a threat to the president was considered news.

Over the weekend, there was a third attempt made on the life of President Trump. You may have missed this story, given that most of the broadcast media did not feel this was a story worthy of covering.

Artisanally-Crafted Narratives – THE ATLANTIC

  • To understand, this is supposed to make them sound bad?!

The Atlantic rides in with the latest lazy, rote method of finding some trend or other common trait, and assigning that significance as the latest example of MAGA hive mind thinking. Except, it does not seem they thought this one all the way through.

Stemming from the non-troversy last week, where a Muslim influencer tried to suggest that dogs had no place in New York City, we now see it explained that if you favor dogs or cats, you very well could be a MAGA devotee.
