Democrats Make Fools of Themselves on the World Stage

The opinions expressed by columnists are their own and do not necessarily represent the views of Townhall.com.

It was called the “Munich Security Conference,” but it didn’t seem to be about security as much as it was about Democrats making fools of themselves on the world stage. I’m old enough to remember when the Logan Act was something Democrats clutched their pearls over – the unauthorized engagement of foreign policy by an American on behalf of the United States government – but that was different because they accused 47 Republican Senators of doing it. For them, no rules apply.

Well, one rule applies because it applies to everyone and it can’t be rewritten or ignored, it’s humiliation. You can be insulated from an awful lot in life, but making a fool of yourself is not one of those things because wherever you go, there you are.

That’s what Democrats did in Germany. They went to the home of Naziism – literally where those massive rallies took place with all those progressive activists and brainwashed masses – and called President Donald Trump a fascist. I don’t think they read the Chamber of Commerce’s tourism brochure on the flight over…

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez whined about “whiteness” to Germans, then claimed the original cowboys were Mexicans and Africans somehow, even though there were zero horses on the continent until evil whitey brought them. You can’t buy that kind of stupid, you really can’t.

This is a direct transcript of an answer Sandy Cortez gave at the conference about Taiwan – “Um...you know...I think that uh...this is...such a, ya know, I think that...this is a um...This is, of course, a, uh, a very longstanding, um, policy of the United States, uh, and, I think, what we are hoping for is that we want to make sure that we never get to that point, and we want to make sure that we are moving in all our economic research and our global positions to avoid any such confrontation and for that question to even arise.”

But AOC wasn’t the only mental twerp marching around Munich, they were all there. Like a weird Pokémon collector, Alex Soros was there getting his picture taken with all of them. The guy who took up with Huma Abedin after Anthony Weiner – likely set up by the Clintons because Huma doesn’t seem to make a move if Hillary doesn’t sign off on it – has his greatest accomplishment listed as simply being born to a frog of a fascist who manipulated the currency market to make his fortune.

His second greatest accomplishment? Making Kamala Harris sound articulate and passionate by comparison. In this clip from the World Economic Forum in 2024 you see exactly why the lucky sperm billionaire does not speak publicly very often and why the saying “money can’t buy brains” is so accurate. I’d transcribe it but about half of it are sounds that my best guess would have me spelling them like fart sounds.

Gavin Newsom was running around Munich trying desperately to look like a leader…while avoiding discussions of how houses that burned down in wildfires more than a year ago thanks to his environmental incompetence have not yet even begun being rebuilt yet. Other states could have rebuilt those houses, had enough time for them to burn down again, then rebuild them again already. Everything may be bigger in Texas, but California holds the records for disasters and politicians that make those disasters worse.

Still, next to AOC, Governor Hairdo comes off as intelligent; next to Alex Soros, the governor who sleeps with his friend’s wife comes off as articulate; and next to Nancy Pelosi, who was also there, Gavin Newsom comes off as…alive.

There were a bunch more Democrats goosestepping through the streets of Munich, including Tim McBride from Delaware, the first “trans woman” in Congress who goes by Sarah. Why? Why not? Hillary Clinton was there, so McBride wasn’t going to be the most masculine person there in a dress. Why? Because it’s a security conference…or something.

Democrats flock to anything that will allow them to complain about the United States and Donald Trump in front of an audience, especially when the trip is paid for by someone else. That this one allowed/required them to make fools of themselves on the world stage is nothing special, and it’s nothing new. Nor will it be the last time. The focus is on the midterms for now, but the stupid season for president is just around the corner. And this next cycle promises to be very, very stupid.
