Stealth Story Evolution – WASHINGTON POST
Maybe you should not have laid off the research team?
WaPo is still self-immolating. The paper put out a BREAKING headline about ICE agents being quietly pulled back from several cities. It then had to walk things back, once it was explained to them that President Trump had already announced this would take place – back in December.
Correction: National Guard troops withdrew from 3 cities with no public acknowledgment, other than a Trump social media post weeks earlier that announced the move. An earlier post, below, failed to note Trump’s post and has been deleted.

New Avoidance Syndrome – CBS NEWS
Given the tragic conditions, why won’t he go back?
The latest immigrant tale the press has latched onto involves an Irishman detained for a few months now. CBS News has joined the fray, and we could all feel there had to be more to this story.

WATCH: Thursday’s ‘CBS Mornings’ had a full story expressing disgust that the Trump administration has detained and seeking to deport a man from Ireland who’s been here illegally for almost 20 years and touted as fact his claims that DHS holding facilities are like a “modern-day… pic.twitter.com/3Jgffhr6uM

CBS dutifully repeated the man’s claims that his life is in danger in the concentration camp conditions, but this leads to the question of why he has fought going back to the Emerald Isle. Now it has emerged that the man who has overstayed his visa by nearly two decades has multiple standing drug charges back in his homeland.

Reporting on the Mirror – VARIOUS OUTLETS
The results are getting worse, and the resistance to change only grows.
The few outlets that have dared to make some changes to their journalism output — the Washington Post and CBS News jump to the fore — have faced strident opposition from journalists, both in-house and those at other outlets.
That ardent fighting against any changes takes place as yet another poll has emerged showing the general public losing tolerance of the news outlets continuing to shrink.
The latest Pew Research shows that not only do more than half say they have little to no faith in the press, but the number of those with a high degree of faith in the media is in the single digits.
One aspect revealed is that more people are saying rather than seeking out the news it has become something they come across during other ventures. That is rather dire.

Low-Octane Gaslighting – SLATE
Now see, this is the kind of claim that normally requires a piece of evidence.
Not to sound surprised, but a very slanted piece at Slate is notably absent in the very content claimed to exist. Writer Christina Cauterucci claims that as an avowed lesbian, conservatives are “terrified” to learn that she is a gun owner. Most of us on the right hear this kind of detail and barely register a blink as a reaction, but we are interested to learn who is terrified.
We are never told.
Christina details a story of party guests discovering she had the gun, and her friends were shocked. She also pledges in her piece to explain why she has one – and then promptly never does so.
The closest she comes is explaining how the Renee Good shooting last month has her people concerned, except she purchased her weapon two years ago. Her entire piece seems to be one based on assumptions, but maybe if she meets a conservative someday, she’ll learn differently.

Both Kinds of Standards – MS NOW
She’s brave for complaining about the country where she is permitted to complain.
We covered yesterday how American athletes are praised for slamming the government, all while Olympic Skier Eileen Gu, who represents China (while being an American citizen) is simply given puff piece coverage.
Now arrives Nicolle Wallace, who calls Gu brave for being critical of her country. That would be the U.S., for the record. As for Gu NOT criticizing the oppressive Chinese government, that bravery is nonexistent.
From Monday, after reading a quote from American-representing-China Eileen Gu criticizing Trump, Nicolle Wallace, "these folks who have nothing to gain, right, by sticking their toe into politics, are more brave than the law firms, than the universities that capitulated, than the… pic.twitter.com/JwxwO8gi0p

Domo-lition Project – CNN
Left to their own devices, what could go wrong?!
Reports are showing that CNN ratings have plunged now to a third of where they had been perched 10 years ago. Making this significant is the impending takeover of CNN parent WarnerMedia by Netflix, which sees them planning to have the cable channels spun off as an independent entity.
.@CNN has lost nearly two-thirds of its viewership since 2016 amid growing fears network is circling the drain.

Artisanally-Crafted Narratives – AXIOS
Your gang is not even trying anymore, are they?
Relying on polls to do the lifting, Axios is insisting that voters are saying they regret not reelecting Joe Biden, who was not running for reelection. Even those who are virulently anti-Trump are doubtful to long for the open border, high inflationary years we all endured.
As for anyone saying Biden was “better,” please…
