There are times in the lives of individuals and nations when behavior must meet the challenge, even when it is out of character.
Dennis Prager, may he have a speedy and full recovery, often wrote about changes in American thinking. He wrote about conservatives and liberals, each positing a set of ideas and bringing proofs and arguments to support their relative positions. As he noted, conservatives and liberals could communicate and even be friends. I am sure that Ronald Reagan and Tip O’Neill shared a few glasses of whiskey together. But then something happened on the liberal side. Liberals disappeared and were replaced by a new breed, the “leftist.” Prager noted that one could not argue or debate with a leftist. His views were fixed, had no relationship with history or truth, and always took an absolutist view of subjects they discussed. It is a testament to his analysis that we know the views of leftists without ever having to meet them. In the old days, a liberal might be for limited abortion but very supportive of the Second Amendment. No longer, they are all drones, made in the same university factory. Grab a lefty, and you are all but guaranteed the following positions:
- Israel made a genocide in Gaza
- All of the land “from the river to the sea” belongs to Palestinians, though there never was a state of “Palestine”
- Donald Trump is a racist, fascist dictator who has usurped the power of the Constitution
- Somalis, Mexicans, and others have complete rights to be in the United States and receive welfare from government agencies
- Whites are the source of all the problems in the world
- The U.S. is not a force for good in the world but is rather evil, as are other Western countries
- Protesters murdered in Iran? What protesters
- There are numerous genders, and trans is real
- We are moments away from a manmade climate disaster
And so forth. You get the idea. If you could grab some of the folks in Minnesota and give them a checklist, it would be 100 percent identical for all of those sampled. And this is not a surprise. The white folks who seem to make up most of the violent rioters in Minnesota, ostensibly on behalf of Somalis and Mexicans illegally in the country, all went to public school and probably college. These are our indoctrination centers. Just as one does not wish to have three arms, he cannot hold opinions that somehow do not fit in with the rest of the program. If you hold all of the above but demand that the border be closed and that illegal aliens be ejected, you have destroyed the entire program. And thus we see numerous individuals, well organized and apparently paid, fighting federal officers who are legally empowered to remove people who are in the U.S. illegally. Shouldn’t there be something wrong with this picture?
One of the most powerful scenes from the movie “The Killing Fields” takes place at a re-education center. A child stands by stick figures of a child and parents. He erases the bond between the child and his parents in the dirt, and that is proof that he has learned his lesson: your entire being is dedicated to the state. We are seeing it in Iran, where IRGC and Basij militiamen kill their fellow citizens—for them, the Islamic state is everything, and if they had enough bullets, they would raise the death toll into the millions if that is the price to keep the mullahs and their program in power. With the Left in the U.S., their dedication is to an anti-American ideology. They were brought up with it, trained how to fight against their country, and in the frozen streets of Minnesota, practiced its purpose. There can be no other explanation for American citizens fighting American authorities on behalf of non-Americans, many of whom are criminals and reside illegally in the country. If they witnessed a guy deck a woman and take her purse, they would not trip up the cop in order to help the thief; heck, they might even run after the bad guy themselves. Does an Antifa guy call the cops when his car gets stolen?
The kicker of the whole story is that these people don’t give a hoot about Palestinians, Somalis, Mexicans, or others for whom they are supposedly braving the cold and ICE officers. If you took one of the lefties, a rich one, and offered to give him a Palestinian family from Gaza to live in his pool house, he would decline. They only care about the Palestinians so as to stick it to the Jews: you murderers! But they raped our daughters! You had it it coming to you. Just die already. And ditto for the Somalis and Mexicans. We saw how the good people of Martha’s Vineyard succeeded in ejecting a handful of illegal aliens within 24 hours. They don’t want them, but they’ll give millions to organizations that bring them in and help destabilize the underpinnings of the United States. In their eyes, we are an evil country, and our only penitence is giving away the country to the poor and downtrodden of the world. Biden allowed in 10 million, Trump zero.
When one watches the events in Minneapolis, he feels like he is watching a football game during the strike. It’s ugly, it can be brutal. But there needs to be an end to the situation. And there are two possible outcomes. The organized lefties, knowing ICE vehicle numbers and more, can win, or the U.S. can win. It is said that when the critical vote to resupply Fort Sumter came up, Lincoln’s Cabinet voted against it so as not to trigger war. Lincoln voted in favor, and the Civil War started. It was an ugly war with more American casualties than in any other conflict. But we are living in the aftermath of that bloodletting. The violence in Minneapolis must be crushed. Sanctuary cities that excuse themselves from federal laws must be crushed. We cannot have two or more countries in one. We all must be part of the same system, and when asking nicely and giving ample warning are ignored, then force must be used until normalcy returns. Americans are nice people, and I am sure that ICE and other federal officers have families and are great parents and patriots. But if the Left violates the law, it must be treated according to its criminal behavior. One does not like to be mean, but the U.S. cannot be ruled by George Soros and his friends. The U.S. has a set of laws, and if people wish to interfere with their application, then they can expect jail time. Somehow, everyone screamed the same about grannies going around the Capitol on January 6, 2021. But now, the rules are different?
Iran kills its citizens by the bushel in order to stay in power. ICE, the FBI, and other law enforcement bodies have to deal with reckless lefties in order to apply the settled law of the United States. If the law allows for the removal of an illegal alien, then the Left has no right to interfere with its application, even if they don’t like it or believe that there is some universalist law they feel is more important. The U.S. cannot function with a Left that is trying to undermine the foundations of the Republic, like claiming that the country was built on slavery, when only a small part of the population actually owned slaves. The Left must either get back in line with the values of the country, “One nation, under God,” or be crushed. The U.S. cannot continue with a violent, well-funded separatist movement.
