BlueAnon – ROLLING STONE

  • When an “investigative reporter” fails to get around to doing that investigating.

As the press is consumed with picking apart the unconvincing “evidence” in the recently leaked Epstein emails, one thing that has been in paltry amounts in all the furor is actual reporting. What we see is an insistence that there is proof of wrongdoing by President Trump, yet there is very little work in coming up with said proof. One of the most galling examples comes from Rolling Stone contributor Daniel Boguslaw.

He comes up with an email in which one of the victims of Epstein’s predations alerts the man that she is about to knock on the door of his dwelling, but said she hesitates, as she commented about the prospect of encountering Trump while there. Boguslaw is among those seeing this as proof, calling this “significant,” given that Trump had claimed at the time to have cut Epstein out of his life.

There is another significant detail at the time: Trump was president.

This means that his travels, locations, and activities were widely known; also, these details are researchable. On the date of the email, the girl was heading to Epstein’s location in Paris. Trump was in Florida on that date, holding a rally and most definitely not inside the Epstein residence.

News Avoidance Syndrome – VARIOUS OUTLETS

  • So only those emails mentioning Trump are worth noting?!

With all the hysterics seen over the Epstein correspondence lacking any type of hard evidence (or even soft evidence), one notable reality is the lack of curiosity seen in the press with those emails concerning other figures.

In one exchange, Epstein is being warned by then New York Times reporter Thomas Landon that another reporter at his paper was asking around for information about the known pedophile. Landon reached out to Epstein directly with the information, even tagging the message as HIGH importance. This was after Epstein was deep in his legal troubles.

Then there are the exchanges seen with Democratic Congresswoman Stacey Plaskett. In text messages, Epstein was essentially coaching the politician on what topics to bring up in a congressional hearing with former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen.

One of the other details this week that many have leaned on is the volume of the emails that Epstein wrote that concerned Trump in some capacity, another piece of circumstantial evidence that ultimately proves nothing substantial. What is notable is how in all of those texts, the two men never communicate with each other. Yet, in instances where there is direct contact with a reporter, and a sitting member of Congress, there is little seen from the press in the form of outrage or concern.

In Plaskett’s case, there was evidence that Epstein had been texting her during the very hearing.

Reporting on the Mirror – BBC

  • The question next is, will that be enough?

In the ongoing mayhem inside the headquarters of the BBC, the network has responded to the threat of a lawsuit being brought by President Trump. After details were released showing the network had deceptively edited a speech made by Trump on January 6, he announced his willingness to bring a suit against the BBC.

In his announcement of the suit, Trump had said he demanded an apology and some form of restitution. It remains to be seen if this will be considered acceptable or if more will be demanded by the president.

Legalized Press-titution – ABC NEWS

  • Was this news story actually written, or is it just a cut-and-paste job from the press release?

In other Trump lawsuit news, ABC News reports that the prosecutor bringing the lawsuits against James Comey and Letitia James is being threatened professionally. According to the network, Lindsey Halligan, who is heading both cases, is being accused of legal abuse in past cases and facing calls for her disbarment.

The severity of these accusations is deeply questionable. The challenge is being brought by the Campaign for Accountability. This is a rather partisan outfit, one that ABC even admits is a “progressive watchdog group.” The bulk of this report essentially reads like a PR tear-sheet from the organization.

Presentation Paradox – WASHINGTON POST

  • Maybe basing benefits for families on the elimination of members is a wrongheaded approach?

The WaPo editorial thought it would be an informative effort to measure every county in the U.S. on how beneficial it is to raise a family. But in its set of criteria, they employed a curious qualifier:

Abortion access.

Making this measurement all the more mentally impacted, it began this editorial by noting that the country is fast approaching having its lowest birth rate in history.
