You Reap What You Sow

The opinions expressed by columnists are their own and do not necessarily represent the views of Townhall.com.

"Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap."

-- Apostle Paul, Galatians Chapter 6, Verse 7 (New American Standard Bible)

"The government you elect is the government you deserve."

-- Thomas Jefferson

There has been incessant commentary, analysis, assessments, and consternation about the results from last week's off-cycle elections. Yes, leftists won gubernatorial elections in New Jersey and Virginia, a Mayoral race in New York City, California passed Proposition 50, which may not withstand true constitutional judicial scrutiny, school board seats were lost in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, and in Maine, they voted against voter ID and supported the unconstitutional Red Flag Laws. There are those on the left who are dancing in the end zone and spiking the football. Those on the right are seemingly wringing their hands. So, what is my assessment of the situation from last Tuesday's election?

I harken back to the Korean War and the surrounding of our troops at a place called the Chosin Reservoir. It was there that these famed words were uttered and attributed to the famed US Marine Corps General, Lewis "Chesty" Puller, "We have the bastards right where we want them, we can attack in every direction.” And attack they did, and the "Frozen Chosin" earned its place in the legacy of our United States military history. This is the spirit we should have after last Tuesday. The Marxist leftists have completely exposed themselves as to who they are, and we need to go on and stay on the offensive.

Blue Perspective

First of all, let's be honest. Northern Virginia is an extension of the DC swamp and populated with leftist government employees who are angered by the curtailment of USAID and the government shutdown, for which the Senate Democrats are the ones consistently voting (15 times) to keep the shutdown. However, their angst and hatred of Donald Trump (TDS) clouds any sense of reason. In New Jersey, there has been a great exodus of population since the last time Mr. Cittarelli ran for that office; folks decided not to stick around for bad policy. And in New York City, Mr. Mamdani was successful, but hardly earned a dictatorial mandate, as he attained 50.4%. Then again, when you are being voted for because on TikTok you have a nice smile, well, as Forest Gump would quip, “Stupid is as stupid does."

A Time to Reap

It is time for the Marxist left, aligned with Islamo-fascists and Islamic jihadists, to indeed reap what they sow. As Jefferson asserted, the people who elected these individuals deserve what these individuals shall do. What we, as constitutional conservatives, must be ready for is not to allow the metastasizing of these cancer cells. There should be no "bailouts" for these jurisdictions that voted for that which, as Sir Winston Churchill described, is a "philosophy of failure.” No, they do not get to harbor criminal illegal immigrants; that is a violation of our Constitution, and they would be in violation of Article VI, Section 2, "the Supremacy Clause" of our rule of law.

Red States need to fortify themselves and be on alert; there have been too many conservative states that have allowed the exodus of leftists into their states, only to suffer the results. The creed of ignorance should have to live under the policies that they elected, not move from California to other states. Colorado is a prime example, as well as my home here in Texas.

I find it the pure definition of insanity that leftists elect stupid, then move to red states, and try to elect the same stupid. Here in Texas, we have a Secretary of State, Jane Nelson, appointed by Governor Greg Abbott, who is filing suit against the Republican Party of Texas, which seeks to close its primary elections. Yes, in Texas, Democrats can vote in the Republican primary. Talk about suicide. Yes, we have stuck on stupid in the Republican party as well.

What Democrat Party?

It is time we come to the realization that there is no such thing as the Democrat party. The party of the jackass should be defined by their principles (such as mutilating the bodies of children or voting for an Attorney General in Virginia who wanted to kill a Republican and his family), and their ideology. I mean, when you have a vile anti-Semite and Islamic jihadist such as Linda Sarsour openly stating that she is going to personally ensure Mamdani does what the Democratic Socialists of America want, yep, we should be exposing every bit of that.

If there is one thing you want on a battlefield, it is an adversary who clearly states who they are and their objectives and intentions. We have that now with the Marxist left and the Islamo-fascists. Now all that is required is just a little bit of courage to make them own who they are and demand public recognition of it.

Republican elected officials should be running to be on CNN, PBS, MSNBC, NBC, CBS, and ABC to define and force the complicit media outlets to admit that they embrace a philosophy of governance that is antithetical to our Constitutional Republic, especially as we enter into the year of our 250th celebration of American Independence. And here we are, electing clowns who prefer our subjugation, subservience, and dependence. Consider next year being the 25th remembrance of 9-11, and the Mayor of New York City is an Islamic jihadist, one who supports a vile terrorist organization. Then again, as we say down South, "the apple don't fall far from the tree.”

Moving Forward

So, no, I am not despondent, disappointed, or dejected. I am a realist who never believed that Republicans would win this battle last Tuesday. But I am excited about winning the greater war for the soul of the longest-running Constitutional Republic that the world has ever known. Warriors love the fight, and this is indeed an ideological battle.

I close with the famed words of Thomas Paine, December 23, 1776, to rally a demoralized Continental Army and America, “These are the times that try men's souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service to their country; but to he that stands by it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman. Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly: it is dearness only that gives every thing its value..."

This is how we fight our battles. It may look like I am surrounded, but America has always been surrounded by our Judeo-Christian faith heritage, God. And the secular humanists, Islamists, and Marxists just ain't gonna know what hit them. Let's Cowboy the heck up!

Steadfast and Loyal.
