Artisanally-Crafted Narratives – VARIOUS OUTLETS

  • Have we just abandoned that whole “get two sources” standard?!

Over the weekend, we learned of a terror plot in Dearborn, Michigan, thwarted by the FBI. Then, rather quickly, news reports began to emerge that maybe this was not the threat initially described, and maybe it was just some hijinks gone awry. This new framing was almost making the FBI appear incompetent and overreacting, with Kash Patel’s name bandied about freely.

Well, now, a few details have emerged about this genuine issue, as the Bureau has released a massive report detailing the plans and the various locations it raided, taking those involved into custody.

It turns out that most of the denials reported came from a solitary source – the lawyer for those arrested, who clearly has an agenda on behalf of his clients.

Stealth Story Evolution – CNN

  • What we could use is an explanation on how you went ahead with those reports on such scant testimony.

Among those to go with the “just a few gamers” coverage of the Dearborn incident was CNN. As the Bureau has now detailed extensively what had been discovered, the network has quietly taken down portions of its reports denying the severity of this plot and suggesting anti-Muslim sentiment behind the accusations.

DNC PR Firm – THE NEW YORK TIMES

  • The game plan here could not be shallower.

As there is a developing rift taking place in some conservative circles, involving Tucker Carlson displaying more questionable stances and the latest being his platforming of Nick Fuentes, The New York Times moves to maximize the effect. Dare we suggest, it is POUNCING on the issue?

Seeing that this could cause a rift in the Republican base and serve as a lifeline for the foundering Democratic Party, The Times comes out with its own platforming piece. The paper dares to suggest that Fuentes can replace the late Charlie Kirk, and does so with a dramatically fashionable cover photo of the avowed antisemite.

Low-Octane Gaslighting – CNN

  • Maybe the historian should brush up on more current topics.

On Abby Phillip’s nightly roundtable, she had on historian Leah Wright Rigeur, who tried to slam the economy by noting that we are experiencing higher gas prices. Her first of many mistakes was making a false claim on a panel with Scott Jennings, who calmly shot down this false claim by stating that nationwide gas is significantly lower.

Rigeur fell back on saying that in some select areas, this was still the case. She then brought up egg prices, saying they are significantly higher today. This was foolish in layers.

First, it has been the case since March that egg prices have been lower than when Trump took office, and the average has been dropping since then. But additionally, she attempted to squabble over this with Jennings, who is himself a chicken farmer in Kentucky, and has an inside track on the accuracy of this industry.

Reporting on the Mirror – TEEN VOGUE

  • Now, where will the kids go to learn about deviant sex practices and fractured social positions?!

For some time now, the outlet Teen Vogue has been something of a hyper-leftist punchline publication. The only serious aspect of the site was that it was aimed at the teen/pre-teen audience, and its selective brand of left-wing politics and aggressive and concerning activist social causes was viewed as disturbing content for those formative minds.

Condé Nast has made the decision to fold this aspect of its empire into the Vogue Magazine sphere, laying off most of its editorial staff. Seeing some voices in the media landscape bemoaning the loss of this “critical voice” is both amusing and disturbing.
