For some reason, the Democratic Party thinks they will gain major political rewards among average Americans by shutting down the government. They’ve never been for it before—for reasons to be noted—but this time, the idea seems advantageous to them. The Democrats haven’t been thinking straight for a long time now, and they are totally warped on this issue, too. There are several reasons they won’t be benefitted by a government shut down. Let me list a few.
1. Government is their God. They don’t believe in any “god” anyway, so the highest form of world authority to them is government. How can America survive without “them” running everything and telling the people what to think and do? And taking care of us? No, according to Democrats, we must have as much government as possible, with them in control, to save the nation. Government, with them in charge, is the solution, the answer, to all of mankind’s current maladies. They simply cannot imagine how America can prosper without as huge a government as possible, preferably a totalitarian one.
2. One reason they ostensibly are shutting down the government is that the Republicans don’t want to provide endless billions of dollars of American taxpayer money for health care to people who are illegally in the country and shouldn’t even be here in the first place. Americans are a wonderfully generous people, but only up to a point; we have to eat and take care of our families, too. Well, if those illegals don’t get the money the Democrats have been promising—and giving—them, some of them might decide they are better off going someplace else. That’s the last thing the Democrats want. They need to make these illegals citizens, then voters, and voters for the Democratic Party that has given them so much money. Buying—or stealing—votes is, in most places in America now, the only way Democrats can win elections anymore. They can’t have the illegals leaving America. So, the Democrats will give in on the government shut down very soon because one of their major (future) constituencies is being hurt and may not be around for long if the bags of candy don’t continue.
3. The American people, most of them, aren’t really going to be hurt by a government shut down. Have you felt it? I certainly haven’t, though I’m in Thailand, of course, and avoid the American government as much as I can anyway. Many people are going to begin to realize the truth, and recognize the fact, that maybe we don’t need as much government as the Democrats and media insist that we do. We want, and need, a government to protect us from domestic barbarians (something the Democrats refuse to do) and foreign invaders (a problem we don’t have at the moment), but Democrats tell us the government is the solution to our EVERY problem. Well, if people realize they can take care of themselves, and that they CAN do it without the government holding their hands, feeding them, burping them, and changing their diapers all the time, the idea of less government, limited government, might start gaining traction in the country again. That is certainly one thing the Democrats do NOT want. So, they cannot allow a government shut down for too long lest the American people begin to comprehend that they don’t really need so much government, and hence don’t need so many Democrats. That would be a disaster for the Totalitarian Party.
Our Founding Fathers understood that, because of the evil nature that resides in all of us, and in some people uncontrollably, some government is necessary. There are certainly things that we, as a people, can do collectively better than we can do individually, and hence governments have been created to handle those matters for us. But our Founders also understood, completely and absolutely, the problem that now exists in America—that some human beings irrepressibly lust for power over others, and a government that has too much power over its people will not help the people, but tyrannize them. That is the battel Americans are now facing—how much government do we need to help us, but how do we keep it from oppressing us? Our Founders wrote a Constitution to give the American government the (very few) powers they thought it needed, but also tried to limit that power in the Bill of Rights. That Constitution has had some success in doing that. But, in the main, the Washington Deep State, and the Democratic Party in particular, totally ignore the powers delegated to government by our Constitution. The Democrats don’t want ANY limitations on the power of government, a government, they claim, gives us our rights in the first place.

So, Democrats can’t allow that government to shut down for very long. They can do it as a ploy to try to appease (fool) the “useful idiots” that are their constituents, but the American people, in the main, aren’t going to buy it.
We might find, indeed, we WILL find, if the shut down goes on long enough that America can get by with a whole lot less government than we have right now, and thank you very much, Democrats. This might be the only good thing the Democrats have done for the country in a long time.
