News Avoidance Syndrome – CNN
Well, he cannot lie if he is unable to conduct the conversation.
On the CNN morning show, John Brennan was interviewing Senator Chuck Schumer about the government shutdown that he had mostly orchestrated by being obstinate. Chuck seemed unprepared for Brennan to deliver actual challenging questions on the matter, so the Senate minority leader had to do the wise thing.
He feigned technical difficulties so he was “unable” to address the question.
CNN: Every Republican who's gone on TV has called this the Schumer Shutdown. What do you say about that name?

“Mr. Speaker, we were not prepared for you to arrive today with facts.”
Also covering the shutdown was George Stephanopoulos on “Good Morning America,” and the diminutive George could have used some more coffee. He challenged Speaker Mike Johnson about illegals being able to receive Medicaid, and Johnson calmly walked Stephanopoulos through what the Democrats are attempting, which is “unwinding” the provisions in the One Big Beautiful Bill that removed illegal aliens from receiving Medicaid assistance.
The best is that, after being overwhelmed with indisputable details, George could only scoff and dismiss the facts with a weak, “Well, you’ve made your point.”
George Stephanopoulos is not a journalist.

Pulitzer Prize Nomination – ABC NEWS
- Could we suggest this was animated, NOT an AI-generated image, or is that pedantic?
Also, during the Speaker Mike Johnson segment, there was this dose of idiocy.
Consternation raged across the press landscape over a post by President Trump, featuring a video of House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer delivering a speech on the shutdown vote. The video was altered to portray Jeffries in a sombrero and mustache, to indicate his desire to aid illegals from Mexico with healthcare. This led to all manner of complaints in the press, with one critique being that this was a racist posting. (Let’s flashback to months ago, when the Democrats were insulting Trump with the label TACO, which was never considered racist.)
ABC News sent its crack team on the case to inform us on a detail about that cartoonishly displayed video: It was an altered video using AI!
I need to alert everyone the investigative sleuths at @ABCNews uncovered somethibng:

Concerning that clip shared by President Trump portraying Hakeem Jeffries in a sombrero? It has been determined that this was, in fact, an AI-crafted altered video.

Hoax & Change – ANADOLU AGENCY
- Is there a WHCA Award for “Most Dramatic Performance”?
Reports were flashing around that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents in a New York immigration court had thrown a journalist to the ground, who required hospitalization. As with most dire stories involving ICE, this needed more context.
The photojournalist is from a Turkish news outlet (why is a U.S. immigration story pertinent to them is a mystery), and he was photographed on the ground, seemingly gravely injured. Later, he was fitted with a neck brace and loaded into an ambulance.
Then, a video of the altercation arrived. We see most of the ICE agents in an elevator and extracting one bull-rushing journo, then pushing another. The second was a woman who fell, hitting the Turkish gentleman, and while he was supposedly severely wounded we can see the female struggling to maintain the focus on her camera as she was stumbling.
LMFAO! ICE officers are NOT PLAYING AROUND!

These activists tried to INVADE the elevator being used to transport illegals.

Gilded Reframe – ABC NEWS
- That thing that rarely happened in the Biden years? Well, it happened again.
Looking back on the book “Original Sin” by Jake Tapper and Alex Thompson, one of the issues they sort of covered was how Joe Biden had been regularly supplied with crib cards that had the names and faces of people he would be interacting with. One of the more revealing was when he was photographed with cards that had journalists portrayed, and those came with questions that the president was to be asked.
The WHCA has denied that this was a practice, despite the evidence that frequently came out during his term. Now, Fox News reports that more of these cheat sheets have been located. Revealed as part of the Autopen investigation, one of these cards features White House correspondent Mary Bruce of ABC News, and has a question beneath her name and photo.

Reporting on the Mirror – CBS NEWS MORNINGS
- We would wager to say the workload for this post is rather light.
While there was much discussion this week about the announcement that the recording “artist” Bad Bunny will be the halftime act for the next Super Bowl, this was only moderately surprising, compared to the other revelation that came with this news.
CBS News actually has someone who is their “Bad Bunny Correspondent.”

Stealth Story Evolution – UNIVERSITY OF DELAWARE TV
- This requires an explanation, kids.
On a campus television program at the University of Delaware, something unsettling was seen in the closing credits of one production. An onscreen scroll was put up giving “Special Thanks,” and one of those listed had been “Charlie Kirk’s Killer.”
After this was spotted, and a notification of it was made, a later video of the program omitted that reference, but it has been captured for posterity.
