Low Octane Gas Lighting – MSNBC (for now)
First problem, Larry - your example is fiction…
Many a journalist, as we have covered these past weeks, strived to disprove President Trump’s contention that D.C. was a crime-ridden district. Those efforts have been completely neutered by facts, such as the altered crime statistics, the calls from the police union, and the subsequent drops in various crimes since the troops were called in.
But we are not certain we can counter the argument made by Lawrence O’Donnell. For his claim that there was no need for Trump to step in and improve the nation’s capital, he offered up as proof a clip of Jimmy Stewart in Union Station. As Larry explains in the provided video, we do not see any National Guardsmen patrolling the train depot.

In a fictional movie scene.
From 1939.
And there you have it – ironclad proof that there is no crime in Washington, D.C.
Behold, as @Lawrence O’Donnell proves there is no crime in D.C. as he offers up for evidence…how no National Guard troops appear in the scene at Union Station in a Jimmy Stewart movie from 1939.

Artisanally-Crafted Narratives – ROLLING STONE
We were not aware that “Executive Aggravation” had been elevated to a federal offense.
The news was splashed everywhere that the DOJ had sent agents into the home of John Bolton, as well as his office, in order to gain evidence of his possessing classified documents. You know, just like the raid performed at Mar-A-Lago, which Bolton had championed previously as a valid enterprise.
Many news outlets are simply enraged that Trump would dare to resort to the very same activity that his predecessor engaged in. At Rolling Stone, they elected to sidestep the cause for this raid and insisted it was conducted for no reason at all beyond personal retribution. Try to imagine the court process where a judge looks over a warrant application from the DOJ, stipulating they need to have a warrant issued on the basis that John Bolton has made the President angry, and the judge signs off on this charge.
The FBI targets former Trump official John Bolton because he made the president mad. https://t.co/GbBnZ6E0r7

News Avoidance Syndrome – CNN
If you do not look for the negative evidence then your favored candidate has a shot!
The press is showing how they really do wish to see Gavin Newsom rise to the top of the Democratic Party ticket for the 2028 presidential election. It is clear he is positioning himself for such a run, given he has been seen the past few months doing anything he can to be recognized - save for actually running his state.
At CNN, one senior reporter tries to tamp down criticism from Donald Trump by stipulating that no polls are showing Newsom is disliked.
in addition to that Newsom is on the president’s mind past midnight is the citing of non-existent “polls” and asserting based on nothing clear how “he is viewed”: https://t.co/4eGV3DSzXC pic.twitter.com/rq91JvFrjB

It is always a joy to see a reporter who abjectly refuses to do the basic research, because in this case, there are literally DOZENS of polls out there showing Governor Brycreem is underwater by over 20 percentage points.

Border-line Obsession – NEWSWEEK
They continue with this insistence, and they continue to string themselves up.
Okay, we are going to make a declaration: Since the press is so perpetually beholden to pushing this fake narrative, we say that when an outlet actually has an accurate report of an immigrant wrongfully detained by ICE agents, they should just get a Pulitzer by default.
For the latest example, we have Newsweek coming out with the claim that a “Dad” was detained after being in this country for a long duration. The folks at the DHS saw fit to fill in the blanks by providing some of the activities this father had been up to during his long stay here in the States.
Another embarrassing headline from @Newsweek.

Blue-Anon – CNN
If you are going to blame him for your issues with your love life, we think we might know what the issue really might be.
Audie Cornish has completely stretched thin the default practice of blaming anything and everything on the leader of the country. On her podcast “The Assignment,” she spoke to the dating correspondent from The Atlantic, Faith Hill, and the ladies discussed the alleged growing trend of dating app fatigue.
The cause for this, as you could probably surmise, is all due to Donald Trump, and MAGA.
Okay, dating apps can be brutal. Many of you who use them say you're fed up. A Forbes survey finds that 78 percent of dating app users felt emotionally, mentally, or physically exhausted by them. So, what's fueling the frustration? Well, politics is part of it. MAGA and other ideologies shape the outlook of some of the people you might be finding on the apps, and that is becoming a deal breaker for some daters.
We are trying to recall all of the conservative voices we heard over the previous four years complaining how Joe Biden made dating so much more difficult, but we are at a loss to come up with examples.
78 percent of dating app users claim to be exhausted by them and CNN's Audie Cornish knows what to blame, "MAGA and other ideologies shape the outlook of some of the people you might be finding on the apps."
