Over the weekend, the official Democrat Party account (@TheDemocrats) proudly circulated a graph they must have assumed would deliver a devastating blow to President Trump and his economic credibility. With big, bold letters blaring “U.S. Grocery Prices Reached Record Highs In 2025,” the caption smugly proclaimed, “Trump’s America.”
Only problem?
The chart they posted actually undercuts their own argument—and makes a far more damning case against President Biden’s administration than anything Trump has done since retaking office.
Let’s unpack the facts.
The timeline of the chart spans from October 2019 through mid-2025. Visually, it’s split into three segments: a red band labeled “TRUMP” for the pre-Biden years, a wide blue band marked “BIDEN,” and a return to red on the far right edge to represent President Trump’s return to office in January 2025.

Now look closely.
Every major grocery category—cheese, alcohol, groceries overall, dairy, produce, and meat—remains relatively flat throughout the Trump administration prior to 2021. The only exception is produce, which experiences a temporary and relatively minor uptick in late 2020 before settling back down. The rest of the graph is astonishing.
Starting in early 2021—the moment Biden steps into office—all categories spike, and sharply. Grocery prices surge across the board. Meat skyrockets. Dairy jumps. Cheese, produce, alcohol—all balloon in price throughout 2021 and 2022. The lines climb with reckless abandon, painting the clearest visual evidence you could ask for that Bidenflation is real and brutal.
Then something extraordinary happens.
As 2024 ends and 2025 begins—right as Trump retakes the White House—the lines stabilize. In fact, most major categories either level off or begin to decline slightly. Even the almighty “grocery” line, which had been racing upward for years under Biden, suddenly flattens. Prices, while still high, stop rising. In multiple categories, they actually dip.
That’s not conjecture—that’s their own chart.
This is where the deception becomes infuriating. The Democrats labeled the graphic “Trump’s America” in a cynical attempt to shift blame for their own failures. But their own data tells the opposite story. Trump inherited Biden’s grocery price explosion. Biden had four years to address runaway inflation—and instead poured gasoline on it with out-of-control spending, energy hostility, regulatory overreach, and no coherent supply chain strategy.
And now, in just a few short months under Trump 2.0, we’re already seeing the halt of that inflationary trend.
The contrast couldn’t be starker.
Let’s go further. This graphic shows the consumer price index (CPI) for food categories normalized to October 2019 levels, with 100 as the baseline. Under Trump (pre-2021), prices hover close to that 100 mark. Under Biden, the CPI for groceries as a whole shoots up to nearly 140. That’s a 40% increase. Cheese, meat, and dairy all experience similar jumps. Produce and alcohol follow suit.
Under Trump’s first term, CPI growth was modest and stable—even during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic. Under Biden, it was a steep and unsustainable climb. Now, in 2025, the Trump effect is immediate: the inflation curve bends sharply. The bleeding stops. And that’s after only six months.
So what exactly are the Democrats bragging about?
This graph is like a criminal turning over a security camera tape and saying, “See? This proves my innocence!” only to reveal video of themselves robbing the place blind. It’s that bad. They’ve handed the American people the receipts—literally—on why Bidenomics failed and why Trump’s policies are already restoring sanity.
Let’s remember what drove those prices up in the first place. Biden’s war on fossil fuels drove up transportation and energy costs, which cascaded into food logistics. Biden’s labor policies disincentivized work, leading to shortages and higher wage pressures in food production and retail. Biden’s spending orgy fueled inflation at every level of the economy. Grocery prices weren’t an isolated case—they were the canary in the coal mine.
Now contrast that with what’s happening in 2025. With Trump back in office, the markets are signaling confidence. Oil production is ramping up. The regulatory state is being defanged. Capital is moving again. And most importantly, inflation is being smothered. The data shows it, and yes—even the Democrats’ own propaganda confirms it.
And here’s the kicker.
The Democrats posted this graph thinking it was a mic drop. They thought they were “owning the cons.” They thought the visual alone would spark outrage against Trump. But what they really did was prove what we’ve been saying all along: that they are the ones who wrecked your grocery bill, they are the ones who let inflation spiral, and they are the ones who can’t be trusted to fix it.
The price of groceries isn’t just about food—it’s about whether working-class families can afford to live. Biden made that harder. Trump is making it better. Full stop.
So the next time the Democrats post a chart to dunk on Trump, maybe they should look at the chart first. Because if this is what their “evidence” looks like, we welcome more of it. Every day. All day.
In fact, this kind of clumsy misinformation campaign is exactly why they’ve lost the trust of the public—and why they absolutely should not be trusted with the reins of power ever again.
Especially when they’re this bad at their own propaganda.
