Body Checking the Fact-Checkers – FACTCHECK.ORG

  • They don’t receive it; also, you cannot have the records of them receiving it.

The news coming out has been that a number of states are suing the federal government over Medicaid records access. Specifically, they do not want the Feds obtaining the medical information on illegal immigrants on the rolls of the agency, because that would–

Hold on a moment…

We have been informed by that unimpeachable authority FactCheck.org that illegal residents do not receive Medicaid benefits. Seems strange then that NINETEEN states are preventing access to the records of illegals…which supposedly do not exist…

Prose & Contradiction – AXIOS

  • So, higher wages is a sign of this “pressure”?

We have the latest delivery of how the illegal immigration crackdown will be horrendous for the economy – even as we get continued news like the new job numbers coming in higher than expected (again) and unemployment falling in June (also, again). This time, we are told by Emily Peck of Axios that as immigration figures have plummeted, it could lead to drastic effects. How?

There will be fewer workers to produce goods and services, slowing down growth and putting pressure on wages.

Translation: With the removal of illegal workers more legitimate labor needs to be brought in, which would mean higher salaries and actual payroll taxes collected.

Recall not long ago when the press was all in favor of higher payrolls, raising the minimum wage, and selling the sob story of “livable income” for workers? Now, suddenly, a rise in paychecks is regarded as a nightmare for the economy.

Low-Octane Gaslighting – ROLLING STONE

  • If we want these stories about Mamdani to go away, we should stop listening to what he says…about himself.

Rolling Stone is the latest to jump to the fore and attempt to rewrite the biography of New York mayoral wannabe Zohran Mamdani. The outlet draws up a list of character traits that have been accused of the man, and they claim they are all false. You know, like his being antisemitic or the concept that he is a communist.

One might think attending anti-Israel rallies and chanting against Jews would be a tip off.

What we especially like is how his proposal for state-run groceries, or the government obtaining residential properties to convert into communes, is NOT a communist mindset!

News Avoidance Syndrome – VARIOUS OUTLETS

  • Wait, wasn’t this practice just condemned…by THEM?!

During the House battle over the vote on the Big Beautiful Bill, Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries decided to get his Booker on, and proceeded to spout off for hours in a bid to – well, we are not sure what he expected to take place. The vote still was held and the spending bill narrowly passed for President Trump’s hoped-for July 4 deadline.

Jeffries managed to set a new mark for filibusters in the House, his party cheered when he concluded, and the press hailed him for his accomplishment.

Of course, not recognized was how for the past few years, the Dems and the press were selling us on the concept of the filibuster being an outmoded and downright racist archaic tool in Congress.

That would include Mr. Jeffries himself.

Reporting on the Mirror – NBC NEWS

  • She uses the false pretense to justify her false reporting.

You had to expect a dose of bad opinion when Savannah Guthrie sat in with Monica Lewinsky to discuss the press these days. Guthrie tried to do all things by suggesting that she is not a biased newswoman – and then goes on to declare in the very same sentence that you cannot play the news straight down the middle these days.

Her justification? That when people are denying that the sun did not come up today then you cannot provide both sides of an issue.

In other words, when she gets to declare that one side of an issue is completely in the crackpot realm then she is perfectly permitted to take a position that is clearly on the biased side of an issue.
