There are certain baseline assumptions for the success of the Republic. When they are missing, things don’t work.
Growing up in the Chicago area, I was always reminded that Frank Lloyd Wright was one of the greatest American architects. He has many famous homes in the greater Chicago area. Later when I was in Madison, the adulation continued. I recall one house that sat at a point where one could see all four of Madison’s lakes. I used to have a poster of his proposed Madison civic center that was finished 60 years after he first designed it.
One thing that most people do not appreciate about Wright was that he was a demanding artist. There were many houses where he designed the interior as well, and most owners describe his homes as being artistically outstanding but uncomfortable for living. That he built each house for his own height, namely 5’7”, means that very tall people don’t necessarily enjoy being in a Wright home. The architect was adamant on the synergy of his structures and their contents—comfort was a secondary consideration.
Just as Wright saw certain aspects of his work as immutable, the founders of the United States had certain expectations of the citizens who would live and lead the new country. John Adams said that “our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people.” Let’s assume that his statement is correct. The Constitution was written by and for people who believed in God, held religiously accepted values, and felt that morality was not some external appendage but rather a central part of one’s character. What happens when the people change? What happens when the basic assumptions associated with the founding of the Republic no longer apply? Can the country continue?
Adams demanded that the people be moral for the Constitution they have, and not to change the Constitution to fit a declining moral standard. What happens when religious belief is in decline and less than half of the population is affiliated with some type of organized church or the like? The founding fathers also expected public servants to be of the highest ethical standards and be dedicated to the welfare of the people. What happens when politicians see political office as an opportunity to get wealthy and accumulate power? Imagine beaming Washington, Franklin, Hamilton and Jefferson into Washington only to show them the $37 trillion deficit. They would be speechless. How could such spending occur in which far more is expended than is taken in as taxes? They would be beyond themselves over the lack of fiscal responsibility and the massive size of the federal government. They would wonder what had happened to the U.S.

What happens when the U.S. strays too far from its organizing roots?
*You can't have schoolchildren say “The Pledge," and if you somehow can, they have to delete “under God” as it might offend somebody. Instead, kids get explicit library books and drag queen storytelling.
*Tens of millions of illegal aliens are willingly allowed into the country, while public funds by the billions are spent on them and not actual U.S. citizens.
*Every member of Congress comes in with modest wealth and leaves as a stratospheric millionaire.
*Even the few remaining “fiscal hawks” have given up on a balanced budget and addressing massive federal debt.
*Basic concepts from religious sources like men being men and women being women are undermined to the point where guys can use women’s restrooms and doctors think that they can change kids' genders like switching shoes.
*People brought wholesale into the country express values and beliefs that are completely incompatible with the basic concepts established in 1776. When Muslims say that they plan to supplant the U.S. government with a Sharia state, they mean it. They should also be on the first jet out of the country on their way back to Garbagistan.
*The left has shown its desire to confiscate guns, so that only the state has a monopoly on weaponry. Gun ownership and proficiency should be a national obligation. “A well-regulated militia” may not be technically required in the age of a professional army. But Americans are expected to protect themselves, their communities and their country. Many have noted that gun ownership is not just for foreign invasion but also to protect against home-grown tyrants who dare infringe on Americans’ God-given rights.
The founding fathers left for the people documents and institutions that would be relevant for any period of time. The Declaration of Independence and Constitution were not made for their own age but rather to serve as a legal and moral framework relevant for any generation—with one caveat: a functioning Republic had certain expectations of the American people themselves.
We today have a situation in which about half of the U.S. population buys into the founding concepts and the unique greatness of the United States. They are patriots and believe that the U.S. is the best country in the world. The other half of the country has been taught to see the U.S. in a very negative light. They claim that the country is racist and is based on stolen Indian land and the work of slaves. Their hatred of America is extraordinary in that everything they have, from their freedoms to their iPhones, literally is a product of their living in America. They make land acknowledgments but never give back their property. They denounce the U.S. as racist but enjoy every creature comfort that is not available in much of the world. They work against ICE removing illegal aliens but would never let these people live in their neighborhoods. Most of them are completely ignorant of American history. They change the focus of their anti-American protests like socks. One day it's support for Israel, the next day ICE activity, now off to anti-Tesla and then pro-mullahs. Anything as long as it's anti-American.
So what will be with the U.S. as we approach its 250th birthday? Its long-term future is good. Those on the left aren't much into marriage and reproduction, and they often take whatever kids they have and castrate them so as to pretend that they have changed their gender. There are many traditional Americans who believe that the U.S. is worth fighting for. They are patriots and want the U.S. to succeed. We are living through turbulent times and hopefully the dying whines of the woke left and its anti-American concepts and agendas. People want boys and girls separate, and they realize that there is no other country in the world where one can start with nothing and potentially move up to enormous success. New York may go down the toilet with a new communist mayor, but other cities will grow and thrive. America is resilient and will overcome the challenges of this period in time for a better future.
The Talmud says that the people get the leaders they deserve. We had Obama and Biden who shoveled money to terror epicenter Iran. Obama intoned that it was his nuclear deal or war. Biden left billions in military equipment behind in Afghanistan, and could only check his watch when the dead Marines came home from Kabul. Now we have a leader who bombed Iran, a country so frightened that they asked him what time he wanted a meaningless attack on an empty airbase in Qatar for retaliation. All military branches are filling up their recruitment quotas because new recruits realize that they have a president, chief of staff and Pentagon boss who will have their backs. The left had its day in the sun and tried to destroy all things American. Let’s hope that they never regain the levers of power to try again.
