Who is Ilhan Omar, and Does She Pose a Threat to America ?

Unfortunately, from time to time, as a result of our humanitarian refugee programs, the United States accepts into our country individuals who don’t have the desire to assimilate and become valued members of our American family, and whose mere presence poses a threat to our country.  A case in point is Minnesota Democrat Congresswoman Ilhan Omar.

Ms. Omar was given the gift of being accepted into America from her war-torn East African nation of Somalia.  Somalia has been a failed state for decades, governed by opposing warlords and corrupt government officials.  It has also become a haven for terrorist organizations like Al Shabaab, an offshoot of Al Qaeda.

Al-Shabaab has claimed responsibility for countless bombings, including suicide attacks in Mogadishu and in central and northern Somalia.  Since 2013, al-Shabaab has also committed terrorist attacks in neighboring countries, including the horrific Westgate Mall attack in Nairobi, Kenya, where terrorists stormed through the mall and killed Christians and anyone else who could not recite passages from the Koran.  Al Shabaab also committed the attack against a restaurant in Djibouti that was popular with Westerners, as well as the massacre of university students in Garissa, Kenya.

The Westgate attack killed nearly six dozen Kenyan and non-Kenyan nationals and resulted in a siege at the mall for several days before authorities were able to retake the facility and rescue hostages still inside. The Garissa attack also killed over one hundred fifty, mainly Christian, students.

Yet instead of coming to America and embracing our freedoms and constitutionally protected rights not found in most other countries of the world, including Omar’s place of birth Somalia, Ilhan Omar has chosen to repeatedly attack and criticize her adopted country, and offer only muted condemnation of attacks committed by Islamic terrorists and other extremists.

While America certainly has its faults and shortcomings, and has committed mistakes in our past that we freely acknowledge, the United States has far more positive qualities that are completely ignored by Omar than any other nation in the world.  If we are so bad, why would so many people from other countries try so desperately to come to America?  Including Ilhan Omar?

Countless people have risked everything to enter our country illegally, crossing inhospitable terrain in Central America to reach our southern border.  Some have even committed immigration fraud, perhaps marrying their own brother as a means of allowing him to enter and remain in America.  As a sitting member of Congress, I’m sure Ilhan Omar would object to anyone using subterfuge and fraud to gain entry for a family member into this country.  After all, she took an oath of office to uphold the laws of this land.

Ilhan Omar makes repeated attacks against the nation of Israel, one of America’s staunchest allies in the world, ignoring what was done to Israel on October 7th, 2023, when horrendous atrocities were committed against innocent Israelis, as well as citizens from other countries, including the United States.  With dozens of hostages taken, some still being held, and others who died or were murdered, or sexually assaulted while in captivity.

Hamas must be eradicated from the face of the earth, along with those Palestinians who aided in the attacks, and punishing even those who celebrated the attacks afterwards, cheering and dancing in the streets just as they did when the United States was attacked on September 11, 2001.

At one point, when giving some comments about the September 11, 2001, attacks against the United States, Ilhan Omar could not even bring herself to acknowledge that it was Islamic extremists who committed the attacks, referring to those who committed the attacks as “some people did something”!  Just as her recent half-hearted comments about the assassination of two Israeli embassy staffers that just occurred.

As far as I’m concerned, Ilhan Omar has worn out her welcome here in the United States.  She is a cancer in our body politic.  Unlike her, I certainly do not encourage violence being used against Omar, or any of the so-called ‘Squad’ serving in Congress.  That’s not our way.

What I do look for, though, is our Justice Department to investigate the credible evidence of immigration fraud she may have committed, as well as any other support she may have offered to enemies of the United States by providing them with information she was privy to while serving on the Foreign Relations Committee in Congress.  If there is evidence developed of any crimes, then her naturalized citizenship should be revoked, and she should be removed from this country.

Ilhan Omar’s loyalties do not lie with the United States, and she will continue to present a threat to this country while serving in Congress.  Far more than any real threat she supposedly feels from “white men”.
