The left and Muslims in the West have created a Jew-hating monster of epic proportion.
VX nerve agent was discovered by a British chemist in the 1950s. During the 1960s, the U.S. stockpiled it as it was the most poisonous nerve agent ever created. One of the unique features of the VX program was that two innocuous chemicals could be stored and only mixed into deadly form during weapon delivery.
In the West, there is a VX-type phenomenon of antisemitism that is metastasizing. Both the left and Muslims have hated Jews for ages. American universities set up Marxist “intersectional” tables in which the Jew is designated the top oppressor. Modern Muslim hatred coincided with the growth of the Zionist movement and the return of Jews to the Land of Israel. There are many records of Jews having lived in Islamic lands over the centuries, and specific Jews are known to have held high office in their respective countries. In the modern period, Muslims kept their Jew hatred in their countries, and leftists concentrated their antisemitic theories in the classroom. After the departure of 800,000 Jews from Sephardic lands, the Arabs could chant but had no Jews around to hate personally; the left had plenty of Jews in the West but did not take its hatred far beyond the theoretical. But then things changed.
Universities are primarily in the money-raising business, while they teach and do research on the side. I have seen the centrality of money in universities both in the U.S. and in Israel. One can understand that a university is a massive operation: salaries, research outlays, physical plant, sports facilities and more. Budgets can be over a billion dollars a year. There is only so much you can demand from students, and many of them need financial aid. Alumni might be reliable but there are only a handful who can write really fat checks. So, the universities turned their eyes to wealthy countries. China, Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and others began to open their pocketbooks with serious demands in return. It was reported recently on the role of Chinese students performing espionage for the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) at Stanford. A Harvard chemistry professor was convicted for not reporting his Chinese ties and “Thousand Talents” income. While the Chinese have been stealing American knowhow in order to cut decades off of research and development, their students tend to blend into the background. One rarely sees Chinese students taking part in protests on campus.
The Islamic states hoped to gain several things with their new university friends. Many of them received a satellite campus in the desert that bolsters the prestige of the host country. Some also pushed for Islamic studies or institutes on campus in order to advance general Islamic goals. Finally, they received commitments to admit Middle Eastern students to the best schools in the U.S. Thousands of Middle Eastern students came to elite campuses, and unlike their Chinese counterparts, they were not shy about sharing their political beliefs.
The armchair Jew haters on campus met fire-breathing Jew haters from far away. The latter could regale their pampered, clueless new classmates with lies about IDF soldiers killing babies or beating Palestinian women. They could say how they shot at Jews and maybe killed a random IDF soldier before boarding a plane to College U. The bored left on campus was energized. Instead of talking endlessly about Jewish oppression and Jews being rich and Jews having crooked noses, now they could talk about action: Israelis are murderers! They stole a nonexistent country! The only thing that was lacking was a spark and perversely the greatest murder of Jews since the Holocaust got the hordes out of their dorm rooms and onto the quad and into the streets. The sheer adoration of rapists and baby killers joined with the demand for murder (“intifada”, “unlive”) would make no sense under normal conditions. Leftists left to themselves would not demand an end to the state of Israel. But with the push of Middle Eastern students and nonstudent agents of Qatar, Iran and others, the left went out of control.
You today have the perverse scene of Trans or Queers for Palestine. Everyone—including these clowns—know that in Gaza or Ramallah, they would be pushed off of a tall building. They know that Islam does not accept their lifestyles or behavior. Yet, their Jew hatred has been so activated, that they ignore all that and march in favor of people who burned families alive and actually did kill babies. One challenge faced by the Nazi leadership in the 1940s was getting the average soldier over his aversion to killing civilians for no apparent reason. Schnapps was often given out before the Eisanzgruppen’s mass shooting of Jews. But that was not enough. The soldiers had to be indoctrinated into accepting that Jews and Slavs were not human—subhumans with an unfortunate human form. Killing them would be no big deal—like stepping on cockroaches. So too, those on the left who would be killed by Islamists have been brainwashed to the point that joining those who would kill them makes more sense than being on the side of the Jews, and in many cases—fellow Jews.
The U.S. government is finally asking universities about their financial ties to other countries. Additionally, visas are being suspended where relevant. But the damage is done. The Middle Easterners may be sent home, but the radicalized left will not go back to its dormant state. One stands in shock at seeing Jews harassed or Jewish establishments attacked. A Jew pushed around campus or a Jewish restaurant owner is not asked if he supports Israel or likes the IDF. Israel hating always moves to Jew hatred and finally disdain for the West. They are all part of the same oppression matrix sold at universities throughout the fruited plains.
The Gaza war will end. Maybe some semblance of normalcy will return to university campuses. Visa holders may be ejected and sent back to their garbage countries. But there is no putting this genie back in the bottle. The young woman who graduates with a degree in Advanced Narcissism will go off to work someplace and bring all of her Jew hatred to her new job and community. Now multiply that event by the thousands and a new generation of sprawling antisemitism has been born in the West. And it all started with the rape, murder, torture and kidnapping of Jews.
