Artisanally-Crafted Narratives – CNN
The anti-misinformation network is perfectly comfortable fabricating a news item.
To say the press industry has been over the moon with excitement concerning the Signal scandal might be an understatement. The hype behind this neutered exposé has been effusive, and now as the impact is dissipating, we see desperation seeping in.
At CNN, they not only continue pimping the story as if it rests at January 6-levels of import but they are augmenting the evidence. The latest is the presentation of audio clips of the Signal discussion. If you ask how they came upon the novel recordings of static text messages, it is because they created them. The “news” network used artificial intelligence to generate vocalizations of the conversations that were only typed out.
But they are to be considered a serious news outlet, not a biased source creating evidence that can be shared among the devout in the resistance movement.

Pathological Media Amnesia – THE ATLANTIC
Condemning them over what you promoted is a grand look, we promise.
As The Atlantic applies duct tape and Gorilla Glue to hold together Jeffrey Goldberg’s Signal scandal story, another hit comes to the story. As part of its coverage, there has been scorn dumped on the Defense team for using the communications app. This supposed critique took a hit when it was revealed that it was in use during the Biden years, and those who were part of the incoming Trump administration were granted with devices that had Signal pre-installed.
Now, comes a revelation from the archives of The Atlantic. The outlet was touting how the service was a sound choice for its encryption abilities, but this was back when the Democrats were in power, so then it was an acceptable choice.
Well well well. The Atlantic labeled Signal the "gold standard of encrypted messaging" back in 2017. pic.twitter.com/TEEEMoiADZ

Presentation Paradox – ASSOCIATED PRESS
Finding a way to blame Trump for this years-long problem.
The AP seems intent on proving the administration wise for excluding it from the White House press pool. In the latest, the news syndicate issued a story how the plight in Ethiopia of AIDS has been made worse by DOGE cuts to services. It highlights a woman with the virus struggling to find medication and treatment, though she contracted it after a series of gang rapes by militants in her region.
Then we see there are also elevated levels of malaria, measles, tuberculosis, and cholera – measured in 2024, against pre-war conditions of 2019. Just to help out the AP, those levels predate the efforts of DOGE.

Pre-Written Field Reports – CNN
“We know you were not involved at all, but how do you explain yourself?!”
Kaitlan Collins had on the Secretary of Veterans Affairs Doug Collins, and it becomes rather clear she had every intent on an ambush interview. Veering wildly away from the intended topic, Kaitlan brought up the Signal scandal and the secretary gave a calm answer on how he was not involved and could not comment much on it. But the hostess pressed on the topic, and Kaitlan soon regretted it.
Doug Collins tried to remain on the topic he was brought on to discuss, but as he was pressured on the other matter, he turned the conversation, bringing up how CNN was found in court to have committed defamation, explaining how this was a demonstrated case of CNN showing hostility to our nation’s veterans. Kaitlan stammered and tried to avoid his accusations by announcing that she was the one who asks the questions.
This was a masterclass in dealing with a corrupt news outlet.

Reporting on the Mirror – BIDEN ADMINISTRATION
Though we knew this for years, it is refreshing to see it acknowledged.
Michael LaRosa worked on the Joe Biden presidential campaign and moved into the role of press secretary for Dr. First Lady Mrs. Professor Jill Biden. (He left following her mess of a speech where she referred to Hispanic voters as “breakfast tacos.”) LaRosa was on with Cenk Uygur of “The Young Turks,” and he revealed what has long been known, yet denied; the Biden White House managed the press around the feeble-minded president.
He detailed how they vetted questions ahead of pressers, had final approval on quotes from interviews set for broadcast, and that there was anxiety whenever Biden would be in unscripted scenarios. None of which is at all surprising, of course, but this reflects horribly on the press industry that not only played along but would deny this type of coordination was taking place.
