Sorry, Democrats, Federal Government Layoffs Are Necessary to Defeat the National Debt ‘Virus’

Democrats are very distressed that federal government employees are being laid off. Roughly 75,000 have accepted President Trump’s deferred resignation offer, which in reality is a real sweetheart deal. These employees are walking away with eight months’ pay

That’s far more generous than the severance package I received when I got laid off many years ago as a retail store manager, when Marc Jacobs closed almost one hundred percent of its brick and mortar stores in both the United States and abroad. I lasted longer than most, but I could see the writing on the wall.

I remember getting the phone call. I answered the phone and said, “Let me guess, you’re firing me?” I couldn’t believe it took them so long, frankly. All my colleagues were dropping like flies. I was in my mid-20s at the time making about $90,000 a year. It was a good job. A great job, even. But guess what happened after I lost my job? I got a new one—even a new career.

President Trump ran on downsizing the bloated and inefficient federal government. What did federal employees expect? A raise? They too should have seen the writing on the wall as soon as Trump won re-election. But many didn’t, especially Democrats, because even the ones not employed by the federal government—by virtue of being Democrats—neither live in reality nor comprehend economics.

The left has already deployed a very predictable strategy in response, centering on the National Park service. I suppose it’s relatively clever. After all, who doesn’t love our nation’s wonderful national parks?

CBS News ran this story: “National Park ranger fired from "dream job" on Valentine's Day pens emotional viral letter: "Things are not ok.””

Boo-hoo. How many emotionally-driven headlines and stories did CBS run about the millions of private sector workers who had their jobs and pay suspended during the COVID era lockdowns? Or the business owners and employees who lost their businesses permanently as a result?

The disgraced AP wrote this headline: “Trump’s firing of 1,000 national park workers raises concerns about maintenance and operating hours.”

Cry me a river. You didn’t object when the Parks were shut down during COVID.

And Politico, which we recently learned was funded in large part by our tax dollars via government subscriptions wrote this: “‘Nobody to pump the toilets?’ Trump purge could cripple parks.”

The left’s coordinated response to President Trump’s reasonable and necessary decision to hold the government accountable and finally address the U.S. debt, federal corruption, and simply waste has exposed the political schism in U.S. politics.

President Trump has been instrumental in pulling back the curtain on the functions, or rather malfunctions, of our federal government—exposing the dangerous reality that the American citizen is, in fact, engaged in a fight with our own government. It is ‘we the people’ versus a tyrannical and unaccountable political elite in Washington D.C.

Democrats, however, are predisposed to siding with the tyrant—our government. MAGA, and most Republicans at this point, represent the long abused citizenry. Consequently, Democrats are viciously defending the criminal and attacking the victims. It’s astonishing, really.

I might generate some understanding for the left’s fake pity party for fired government employees were it not for their prior jubilant support for fired private sector employees during COVID.

These same Democrats claimed that the COVID private sector bloodbath was for the greater good. It was simply the price we had to pay to defeat ‘the virus.’ The Biden administration even fought a war to fire the unvaccinated. Many in the federal government were fired, and elsewhere—firefighters, for example. In the end it was only the infirm, elderly, and immune-compromised that were at risk

But there is another virus, which is far more dangerous to the American people. It’s the national debt (and the Democratic Party). The unfathomable and ever increasing debt—more than $36 trillion not including unfunded liabilities—not only threatens the infirm, elderly, and immune-compromised, but the young and even the unborn. We are in an economic death spiral—sick, bankrupt, and facing imminent calamity on an unimaginable scale.

There is a known cure, which President Trump is pursuing. It requires not only an expanding economy and GDP—achieved through tax cuts and the elimination of nonsensical bureaucratic red tape—but also the radical but obvious elimination of government spending. Sadly, this means eliminating both government departments and the accompanying jobs.

Welcome to the real world! It happens in the private sector every day.

The era of an unaccountable federal government is coming to a necessary end. It’s past time that the American people re-establish ourselves as the employers and government bureaucrats as our employees.

Democrats and many federal employees are understandably in shock. They put the government on a pedestal, believe the government job is permanent, and that the taxpayer gravy train is infinite. It is not.

Elon Musk fired 80 percent of the Twitter workforce when he bought the company, which is now thriving as ‘X.’ America will likewise thrive when 80 percent of federal employees are fired.

To Democrats: it’s for the greater good. The debt is a virus. Firing federal employees is necessary to save the country. Look at it like COVID and pretend the federal layoffs are private sector layoffs. It’s a small price to pay to save the body politic.
