Anti-Social Media – CNN

  • Uh, Anderson – you are letting your unraveling show up on camera…

As another sign of how bent out of shape the press is becoming in these early days of the Trump 2.0 presidency, Anderson Cooper lost his composure on a panel discussion for “AC360.” In kicking around the topic of the wasteful spending being exposed by DOGE, Cooper takes the bizarre yet ubiquitous stance in the press of challenging the findings of this financial fraud. He even questioned the recent discovery that FEMA was violating the presidential order to cease making payments for illegal immigrant housing. This prodded former New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu to ask Cooper if he was in favor of this – “That’s okay now?” Anderson chided the former governor with a vulgar accusation.

Perhaps making this quiet but acidic outburst all the better is that Cooper dropped this phallic invective with none other than noted video flasher Jeffrey Toobin sitting in on the discussion.

Low-Octane Gaslighting – ASSOCIATED PRESS

  • “Let us into the party – it’s in the Constitution!”

Since he has returned to the White House, Donald Trump has made it a regular feature that he holds round table pressers inside the Oval Office, with off-the-cuff questions from the assembled press members. These are often tied in with his signing of executive orders, one of which was the declaration that now we recognize the southern body of water as “The Gulf of America.” And here lies the source of manufactured outrage.

The Associated Press has declared the outlet will not recognize this name change. As a result, the White House prevented the AP correspondent from attending the latest gathering around the Resolute Desk. This has led to vibrant protests from inside the AP and other outlets, declaring this to be censorship, a violation of First Amendment rights, a threat to the free press, and any other hysterical claim. Let us just place this in a context that the journalists may grasp – all of these claims are MISINFORMATION.

BlueAnon – THE HILL

  • When journalists are on the case of Elon Musk wearing an illegal hat, you know they finally have him cornered.

It has become more than obvious the press is in an absolute frothing frenzy over Elon Musk and his…well, anything he does, anymore. The man charged with looking into government waste and corruption has the press extremely bothered – for doing their stated job duties. The media that claim to be holding the powerful accountable cannot stand to see someone going into agencies and – that’s correct – holding them fiscally responsible.

One indicator of the desperation comes from Alex Bolton of The Hill. He took a look at the last Oval Office presser where Musk and his son were in attendance. Elon was wearing a dark MAGA hat, and this could have been illegal. How? It is a Hatch Act violation!

(One piece of advice: Please remember when laughing at Mr. Bolton, pointing at him while doing so is considered compulsory.)

News Avoidance Syndrome – MSNBC

  • Sure, it was a historic moment, but not "interrupt Lawrence O’Donnell" levels of importance.

One of the amazing things to watch with Trump’s still-has-that-new-administration-smell tenure is his deft work on the international stage. He has negotiated new deals with Canada, Mexico, and Colombia, and he is getting Americans held captive to be released on a regular basis. After getting Venezuelan hostages freed, last night Marc Fogel came home, after four years spent in a Russian jail.

Although, you would have missed his return had you been watching MSNBC. (But seriously now, why would you have been?)

What is most telling is that the network – which loves to squeal about what news items are not covered appropriately by Fox News – did not even have its digital side covering the historic release. After all, how could it find space for this, what with all the Trump hate-pieces it had to have displayed?

Stealth Story Evolution – POLITICO MAGAZINE

  • Wellllll…with Joe out of office, I guess it is safe to report accurately about the economy.

Flashback briefly on what we had been lectured about for four years under Biden: The economy is doing great, inflation can be a good thing, people’s paychecks were rising better than food costs, and President Silver Alert ushered in record job growth. Now, that picture sure has shifted.

While thinking of all of the times we heard news outlets say the American public refuses to recognize the positive Bidenomics taking place, Politico comes out with a new report – it turns out we had been correct all along about the economy stinking like a pint of cottage cheese forgotten for two weeks in the trunk of the car.
