The Democrats stand dumbfounded and confused as Donald Trump and the posse from DOGE detail their corruption and self-dealing.
There are times when I almost feel sorry for our rich and famous. Their iPhones are identical to those of their gardeners and cooks. Sure, one can encrust a device in diamonds and put it in a golden case, but at the end of the day, they have the same phone that millions of others carry. They should probably get used to just being like everybody else in other aspects of life.
Being a top Democrat or supporter over the past twenty years meant being in a different line than the rest of the American people. As Elon Musk and his programmers find and publish more waste, graft, self-dealing, and fraud, the day may come when Democrats will look back wistfully on the gravy train they enjoyed. Some examples below.
– Not all Americans are created equal. John Kerry could take his mask off as he flew, while Nancy Pelosi, doing her best Lady MacBeth imitation, could stroll maskless through a beauty parlor in San Francisco. No such luck for the regular folks. I still hear the screams on the plane when some passenger took off his mask. I recall being told to return my mask as I chewed. I remember the young lady who put around 2 liters of Clorox on her seat, tray table, and screen. Then there was that one woman with a UV lamp that she directed at all points around her seat. I saw a young American who was changing planes with us in Frankfurt. A policeman with a machine gun stopped him because his mask stopped just below his nostrils. People like Tony Fauci could sit alone at a ballpark with his mask far from his face. If you surfed alone on an empty California beach, you would find yourself with a shiny pair of handcuffs.
– Global warming for thee but not for me. Democrats and their billionaire supporters routinely made use of private jets. Personally, I wish that everyone had his own plane, because I know that the climate scare is a scientifically-defective scam. Our pathetic “elite” would fly to Davos and other points to tell us how terrible, selfish, miserable we were for still wanting to make barbecues, drive comfortable gasoline-burning cars or fly commercial. Somehow, irony is one thing that Democrats never quite understood. The glitterati would show up to any event in a massive Cadillac Escalade and retreat home to their mega-mansions that use the electricity equivalent to that of a small city.
– Richie Richest. Somehow being a top Democrat often sent your net worth into the stratosphere. The latest revelation concerns Samantha Powers, the woman who wrote against genocides and then presided over one in Syria during her time in the Obama administration. Her net worth during three years of hustling for Joe Biden over at USAID somehow went from $6 million to over $30 million, all on a $180,000 a year salary. She should retire to Vegas and open a magic residency at one of the big hotels. Hilary Clinton famously made a massive return on cattle futures. The Obamas have a different house for each week of the month. As with the planes, I don’t begrudge anyone his wealth. The problems are twofold: was the money made in a kosher manner and these same people enjoyed taxing others and making energy and worldly goods as expensive as possible for everybody else. People used to go to Wall Street to find their fortune; during these golden years, they instead went to Washington.
– Being a Democrat meant a suspension of science. Our hardworking folks at the CDC magically found that if one was in a Black Lives Matter riot, there was no concern for Covid virus transmission. Unfortunately, the same was not found to be true at churches, schools, or restaurants. Experimental vaccines were forced on the people, and only much later did some officials sheepishly admit that they may not have worked as advertised and may have caused some significant medical problems. Drugs showing some efficacy were taken off the shelves so that citizens would be forced to choose between job/travel/school and a drug just out of the lab. A guy could declare that he is a gal, his 30 trillion cells carrying XY chromosomes ignored as a mere inconvenience.
– Being a Democrat meant that the law no longer applied. Based on the evidence available, Joe Biden took secret documents home already during his days in the Senate. His family made a fortune of tens of millions of dollars by using his position as vice-president to be pimped out by his son to foreign parties. Hilary Clinton destroyed over 30,000 emails subject to a Congressional subpoena and appeared to have used the Clinton Foundation as a clearinghouse for family enrichment. If the claims of Chelsea receiving $84 million via USAID, including $13 million for her wedding are true, then Hilary will take Biden’s crown for using the government to get rich and not getting caught. General Milley promised to help the enemy at a time of war and only now may face some discipline for his insubordination. Democratic donors and friends of the party leaders received government money through Covid grants, and loans that somehow never needed to be repaid. And let’s not forget their favorite protected groups. As I write, a Tweet from Elon Musk states that his DOGE gang found a $59 million payment from FEMA to high-end New York hotels for illegal aliens. The money was sent last week. Musk writes that such a payment is simply illegal.
As the Clintons, Pelosis, Obamas and Bidens head into their golden years, they will look back to the glory days where Democrats could get rich, avoid the rules and be above the law. If Donald Trump can get the country’s affairs in order, hopefully such behavior will be much more difficult. No, the US government will never be as efficient as a Swiss army knife, but maybe it will be transparent enough to easily catch when money is being wasted or used in any way that does not serve the interests of the American people writ large.
