Now we are certain a pro-Trump influencer will be brought on in the name of balanced reporting…right, Major?
In a very odd and deeply partisan move, Major Garrett brought on the nightly news broadcast a TikTok influencer, whose primary message is that, like her, those on the left need to become “mean liberals.” Yes, Mr. Garrett apparently thought that it was novel and newsworthy to find a white, leftist female who acts mean and rages about political issues on social media. How…unique…and rare, Major.
Why this was considered content for the network broadcast is not very clear, nor why this in-person interview needed to comprise a six-minute segment, but we eagerly await the unbiased and nonpartisan newsman to entertain a pro-Republican TikTok influencer this week.
Right, Major?

Prose & Contradiction – CNN
You managed to bring on someone who typifies the very problem Anderson, but we are not sure that was intentional.
One of the acts in play from Donald Trump that has the press bothered is his intent to go into the FBI and clean house of the entrenched Democrat, sycophant culture inside the Bureau. We learn that many inside the FBI fear for their careers from Anderson Cooper.
To complain and whine about the way the people inside the Bureau are in a state of anxiety, Cooper brought on disgraced former Deputy Director Andrew McCabe. It basically undercuts any attempt at building sympathy or opposition to Trump’s policies by turning to a man who has admittedly lied to Congress about his role while at the Bureau, representing the very type of internal corruption they are seeking to root out and replace with effective individuals and leadership.
JUST IN: Former deputy FBI director Andrew McCabe says the FBI is in "utter disarray" thanks to Trump, says they are living in "terror" because their pensions, healthcare, and retirement are at risk.

According to Folkenflik, it is only wrong when others do it.
National Public Radio’s media expert David Folkenflik took exception when Fox News host John Roberts mentioned the new capitulation seen from the leader of Mexico as a big win for President Trump. In making a snide comment about Roberts being a “straight news anchor” at Fox, David inspired a response from Roberts, explaining that any president would consider this to be a win.
Folkenflik attempted to change the angle of his commentary once he was addressed by the newsman, but Roberts simply finished him off by posting a previous headline from NPR – one announcing a Joe Biden deal in the Baltics by using the exact same language, calling it a “Big Win.”

Presentation Paradox – THE NEW YORK TIMES
Soooo…that waste is slightly more than the pittance the press is dismissing it as in their reports…
One of the aggravating aspects of the current debate of addressing the profligate spending and other wasteful expenses in our government is the press repeatedly saying that these examples amount to a small fraction of government spending. Somehow, in their rationale, this means that we should…continue wasting that money? In a lengthy report on Elon Musk and his desire to attack this waste of tax money, they not only bury the lede but in the course of its article, it gets tossed down a mineshaft.
Michael Shellenbeger points out how a very revealing ledger entry – that in 2023 alone – well over $200 billion was lost through waste and overspending on programs. This was not revealed in this epic report until 43 paragraphs deep; FORTY-THREE PARAGRAPHS.
This is the type of coverage we are seeing regarding this issue. It is disgraceful the way the press wants to prop up this graft built into the system.
Forty-three paragraphs into the NYT's latest hit piece on @elonmusk, the six (!) by-lined reporters reveal that the federal government lost $236 billion to apparent fraud ("improper payments") in 2023 alone. Maybe this isn't the dunk you guys thought it was? pic.twitter.com/7UDVijgVMe

Taking obliviousness to new lows…
In a rather amusing display, we have a pair of dispatched former newsmen jawing together on the state of the news industry, Chris Cillizza and Chuck Todd. It is positively amusing to watch Chuck Todd go off on a rant about Elon Musk and blame this one man entirely for the alterations in the general public losing trust in the press. Understand, the news media have been plunging in the opinion polls with the American public for numerous, consistent years, currently laying in a position BELOW that of politicians. Yet, Todd wants to lay the blame for this entirely at the feet of Musk:
He has helped successfully destroy the trusted information ecosystem. Elon Musk is a 5-alarm fire, and the country doesn’t realize it yet.
Now understand, Musk only took over Twitter a little over two years ago, and that was a process to change its environment. The press has been cratering for far longer than that, but Todd wants to place the blame entirely on one man, not the ongoing and widespread problems of a corrupted media industry. What had Chuckles so upset is that Elon has made it easier to expose and discount the fraudulent media manipulations. Let us not forget, Chuck Todd last year admitted he had known of Joe Biden’s degrading condition for years, and never reported on that until he was exposed by the debate.
But Elon Musk is the reason trust is broken.

We are going to require further evidence of this claim.
You get the impression that the AP needed to build up a conflict where the data was not supporting one. Despite a rush this week of Democrats and media outlets trying to say your Super Bowl party will cost more all because of Donald Trump policies, the reality sees that narrative getting sacked.
The AP looked at the average cost of hosting a party for 10 people and has declared this year the cost for that spread has gone up – by one dime. Since that does not exactly fit in the current negative hype, the piece was worked over to find stress areas for food items and balance those with cheaper options.
But broccoli over chicken wings is not only a non-starter for a party, suggesting that the vegetable is cheaper than wings “this year” is the real laugher.
Winging it for the Super Bowl? Broccoli might be a cheaper party snack this year https://t.co/TMSlAs46oJ
