Mr. Trump’s inauguration is an event that patriotic Americans have been waiting for with great excitement and enthusiasm. We've been tortured for the last 4 years under a horrible, left-wing, godless presidency. But Biden is gone, and we anticipate many positives from the Trump administration.
Now, I don’t want to throw cold water on this excitement and hope, but I would like to try to consider what might be realistic. We’re shooting for the stars here, but maybe we ought to aim a little lower and just hope for the moon or even just a few high clouds. Mr. Trump will certainly accomplish much good. But we must recognize that he won’t be able to do everything he, or we, want him to do. It’s crucial we accept that.
What will Mr. Trump successfully achieve? Well, I'm not a prophet, so I can’t predict, exactly, events of the future. We can make some general predictions based upon the principles and laws which God has established to govern the universe and mankind. We know that if people do those things which are in harmony with God’s laws, then good things will result. If people reject God’s laws, then bad things will follow. Anybody who understands this could have very easily predicted in 2021 that America was headed for four very negative years because just about everything that Biden, the Democrats, and the Left believe and practices is contrary to truth, science, common sense and God’s laws. I haven’t been surprised in the least at Biden’s monumental failures. I fully expected such back in January, 2021. Whatever a man (nation) sows, that shall he (it) also reap. So, the last four horrible years in America are exactly what should have been anticipated.
I believe Trump will change much of that. But, again, he won’t be able to accomplish all he, or we, desire. He faces two major obstacles which means we might only get some clouds, not the stars we hope for. But even that will certainly be far superior to what Biden produced.
What are two major barriers Trump faces?
One, the Deep State. And that’s not just the Democratic Party. They obviously will oppose every good Trump attempts, but the biggest problem the President will confront is actually in his own party. There are still too many Deep State, Establishment Republicans in Washington and around the country. People like Mike Johnson and John Thune. Their ilk still exist in numbers or those two men wouldn’t be in the leadership positions they occupy. They are Deep State, and they will protect the Deep State against Trump’s populism whenever they can. Treason in the Republican Party is Trump’s biggest challenge.
Now, President Trump will gain some victories because his position and influence are substantial, and because you and I (“X”) and the growing number of conservatives in Congress are going to pressure Johnson and Thune to toe the line. The Republicans in the House have already passed a law limiting men from participating in women’s sports. Hopefully, the Senate will concur, and Trump will sign it into law. That would be a great victory, and there will be such successes. But make no mistake about it, the Deep State is solidly entrenched in Washington, and in the Republican Party, and Trump will have a massive fight on his hands against it. He promised, in his first term, to “drain the swamp,” and didn’t make a dent. There are no guarantees he can do any better this term, though we certainly hope...for the stars. But we may have to settle for some clouds.
Can Mr. Trump limit government spending and recover the nation from the disaster of Biden’s destructive inflationary policies? Trump will have to fight the Deep State to accomplish that. How many of the illegals can he deport? The Democrats and their billionaire big business cadres, along with the Deep State, will do everything they can to keep as many of the illegals as possible from being expelled. We hope Trump will get EVERY illegal out of the country. But we might have to lower our expectations and hopes a little. To the clouds, not the stars.
Trump is popular right now, and the Deep State is concerned. But that doesn’t mean they are going to give up and quit fighting. Rather, expect them to double down.
Mr. Trump’s second big hurdle is the current decadent moral condition of too many of the American people. Folks, when half the country believes that a woman has the right to murder her unborn baby, that children can be mutilated for the sexual gratification of degenerate, deviant hedonists, that pedophilia and everything related to vile, unnatural sexual perversion is on a par with sexual purity—among other grossly licentious practices—a country like that has some serious moral issues. I have long said that America’s number one problem is not political; it’s moral. And that can’t be solved at the ballot box.
We’ve often heard, “You can’t legislate morality,” and that’s true, but not totally. We have laws against murder, theft, rape, and other things we consider “immoral.” But we can’t legislate against lying, greed, covetousness, lust in the heart, and a whole host of other sinful matters that exist in, and start from, the human heart. That’s the true source of evil. It’s not just a woman aborting her baby; it begins in her heart. What kind of corrupt heart would even want to do something like that? Or mutilate a child? Or be a pedophile? Those evils begin inside, in the heart, and there is very, very little Donald Trump can do about that.
You can’t legislate conversion.
So, we must be realistic, given the current state of the nation. Trump will do many good things. But he won’t accomplish everything we hope for. Some clouds, maybe even the moon. But not the stars.
