Greetings, everyone from Washington, DC. We are just hours away from casting off the four-year scourge upon this Nation known as the Biden-Harris administration. Last week was the final week of said unconstitutional presidential tyranny, and as Ronald Reagan said, “It's morning in America again.” If there is one thing I truly do love about Washington, DC, one of the few things is going for a nice run along the Washington Mall and enjoying the splendor of our Nation's capital. As I was running this past weekend, I reflected back upon the final week of the Biden-Harris administration and why the leftists are dancing on the precipice of political exile.
If there has been a recurring theme since the November 5th election, it is that the progressive socialist leftists just did not get the memo. It is not that they have doubled down on stupid; they have quadrupled down, and last week was a prime example of their insidious folly.
Last week began with a so-called foreign policy address by Joe Biden as if anyone wanted to hear his take on said topic. It was a collection of mindless rambling, and to borrow the description, disinformation, and misinformation. Anyone who believes that the world is a safer place, as Joe Biden exits, is delusional. And that brings me to outgoing National Security Advisor, the infamous Boy Blunder, Jake Sullivan, who tried to convince us that the Afghanistan debacle was a success. In his words, we would still be fighting, and our troops would be dying. Somehow, he failed to recognize the problem of leaving behind over $80B of U.S. military equipment and providing foreign aid to the Taliban, a designated terrorist organization.
Contrary to what we were told, the Taliban holds three Americans hostage. Ukraine, the Middle East, the border…there is no way that Joe Biden could coerce any rational and reasonable person that he was anything but a failure regarding American national security and foreign policy.
It would have been best that he had focused on packing instead of reminding the Nation why he and Kamala Harris were resoundingly rejected.
Then we had a week full of Senate confirmation hearings, and the Democrats did what my Mom would call “showed out.” And by the way, that is what she would call it before I got a whupping!
The leftists showed that they cannot speak to policy since the past four years have been so horrific. However, they resorted to their typical Saul Alinsky “Rules for Radicals” playbook and just went for the politics of personal character assassination tactics. And how many times did we have to hear about nominees saying Biden was elected president...say it, say it! Where were the feminist groups to decry the imbecilic Senator pointing his finger at Pam Bondi and instructing her not to talk? And the Democrat members of the Senate Armed Services Committee have to be the most unhinged of all. Senator Tammy Duckworth started quoting the Soldier's Creed, but she took an oath to support and defend the Constitution. Where was she when Biden and Harris were violating it, including Biden pushing for more student loan debt relief in the final week? And yes, opening up our border is a violation of the US Constitution's Guarantee Clause—Article IV, Section 4.
During Pam Bondi's hearing, I lost count of how many times Democratic senators asked her if she would not do something Biden AG Merrick Garland had done. Hmm. And why would Adam Schiff ask about protecting Liz Cheney unless they realized that Cheney had done something wrong? You know, like lying and withholding exculpatory evidence, which Schiff knows about quite well.
Throughout the hearings, what we saw were Democrats in total fear about their leftist policies being decimated. And that is exactly what the American people voted for last November, but it is a hard pill to swallow.
And how about Democrats last week not supporting the Laken Riley Bill? Remember the young University of Georgia nursing student killed by an illegal immigrant? The Democrats are concerned that this legislation would lead to an ease in deporting illegal immigrants who commit acts of violence against Americans, especially women. Then there was the rant by Rep. Ocasio-Cortez, who opposed the bill to protect women's sports from biological males. This is the party who tells us that they cannot define what a woman is, but AOC can tell us that “trans” girls are girls? I believe that someone failed Biology 101 in high school. Am I the only one who found it interesting that Democrat Rep. Seth Moulton of Massachusetts, who after the election said that he did not support boys in girls’ sports and locker rooms, voted against the protecting women's sports legislation?
Lastly, for whatever reason, Joe Biden felt it necessary to say farewell. Even USA Today said it could not come soon enough. No, I did not watch his fifteen-minute blather—my Tennessee Volunteers men's basketball team was playing Georgia. I did catch news clips and was happy that I decided to skip it.
Last week was an indicator that the progressive left is not going to conduct a lessons-learned session. They are going to stay the course of being the party of the jackass and an absurd one at that. Republicans have the great opportunity to cast the left into a long-term political exile, but it will require principled conviction, resolve, and courage. The Trump nominees exemplified such in weathering the vicious attacks of rabid little chihuahua dogs. They may wanna get a shot...and not the one the left loved so very much.
We had a saying in the military, “You only take flak when over the target.” It's time for “bombs away” on the ideological agenda of the American progressive socialist left to force them into political exile. Just as southern Moms would say, the beatings will continue until your attitude adjusts. The next beating comes in the midterm elections of 2026.
