Legalized Press-titution – THE WHITE HOUSE

  • Now, who thought it was a good idea to bring out "The Lost Jedi"?

For reasons obvious and inexplicable, actor Mark Hamill was invited to the White House to meet with the president, and he was even brought out to speak to the media in the White House press room. If this was done to help Biden's image, it was in error, as Hamill sounded drunk and basically said little of any import.

Just…wow. 

Making this all the more inexplicable – literally – was when KJP was asked why Mark Hamill was speaking with the president. She attempted to sound as if the reason was self-evident, all while being completely incapable of explaining why.

Low-Octane Gaslighting – MSNBC

  • So, Bobby, you say you are upset with this rise of Nazism in the country, huh?

It is apparent how desperate the Democrats have become with Biden's sliding poll numbers with the push in the past couple of weeks to get Hollywood on his side. There was the recent fundraiser at actor Michael Douglas' home, and Joe appeared on the star-studded "Smartless Podcast" with the other former Democrat presidents.

Also lending his heft was Robert De Niro, appearing on "The 11th Hour" with Stephanie Ruhle. The impacted thinking was on full display between the two of them.

To start, Ruhle was apparently oblivious that De Niro opposes Donald Trump. Despite the fact that Bobby has spoken against Trump at awards ceremonies and has done numerous interviews braying about Trump since 2016, often being vulgar in the process, Steffie thought it was rather brave of De Niro to criticize the man like this.

He then goes on to complain about the rise of hatefulness in the country and how it approaches Nazi Germany. That De Niro can look over this nation and think it is Trump, MAGA Nation, Republicans, or conservatives fostering antisemitism on college campuses is utter fallacy and a sign of an unthinking mind.

Presentation Paradox – 'THE LATE SHOW'

  • You mean to say Colbert had a pro-Democrat guest on his show...?

Keeping with the Hollywood theme, on "The Late Show," actor John Leguizamo showed up to promote his upcoming series on MSNBC, but given this was Leguizamo, and given he was speaking with Stephen Colbert, his project was easily forgotten.

John went on at length about his disgust with the Spanish language network Univision, and that it is willing to give Trump equal airtime for the election. Understand, for years, Leguizamo has been upset at the migration of Hispanic voters to the GOP, claiming that Spanish language radio has been selling them misinformation. This is rather insulting, as the actor is implying that Hispanics cannot think for themselves, but he also misses that what he is saying is the same side of the same media coin: He is mad that radio is swaying the thinking of Hispanics, but wants television to sway the thinking of Hispanics.

The best is the hard militant stand the actor has taken with Univision:

'So I won't be on Univision,' Leguizamo told Colbert, adding: 'I won't be. They have the highest-rated Spanish-language shows, so I won't be on Univision.'

This would be the part where we could remind Leguizamo why he is on with Colbert. Given he is promoting his new show, it would seem ducking the most popular network would hurt him far more than it will hurt Univision. But then, Univision's competitor is Telemundo – which is owned by NBC.

DNC PR Firm – MSNBC

  • Jeff might be from the Midwest, but he is reading a script from the West Coast elites.

Just to add to the aging actor propaganda push, on "Morning Joe," they entertained the actor Jeff Daniels, who solemnly explained to the viewers of that show, who are already voting for Biden, why they should vote for Biden. Daniels trotted out the already tired catchphrase about Biden – "Decency" – and then described Trump as the condescending figure:

We live in the Midwest. We don’t necessarily take New York and LA as seriously as New York and LA take itself. But we are flyover country, and we have a chip on our shoulder about that. We’re not as stupid as people like Trump think we are.

Yeah, um, Jeff? We have had seven to eight years of the coastal media elites calling those people in the Midwest stupid, mostly for backing Trump, because they are uneducated rubes. Trump, meanwhile, is going to those Midwest locations and holding rallies where he speaks directly to the locals.

Biden was recently in the home of Michael Douglas in Malibu.

Gilded Reframe – DEADLINE

  • Did no studio send over a promotional calendar?!

This weekend the Ryan Gosling comedic action film "The Fall Guy" premiers in theaters, and the results are expected to be just okay. In looking over the tepid returns, the movie outlet covers a number of factors leading to this, but it also draws a curious conclusion.

Many in the industry were looking at the film as signaling the start of the summer blockbuster season, but at Deadline, they have rather mixed feelings about this.

The previous release date for "The Fall Guy" was March 1, but Universal pushed it to this weekend after Disney/Marvel Studios' vacated "Deadpool & Wolverine" — which some now view as the true start of summer. 

Ummm, we are just going to come out and say, "No, you are wrong." Not because we are any kind of movie marketing experts, but given the release date of "Deadpool," we find it hard to say summer will begin nearly three months from now on July 26.
