As a seasoned political activist and a committed member of the Republican Party, I have focused my career on harnessing effective advocacy to influence public policy and wind elections. With the midterms on the horizon, the GOP is presented with a unique opportunity to expand our voting base by positioning ourselves as staunch defenders of artistic and religious freedoms, particularly for groups like Shen Yun, a performing arts company that faces relentless attacks by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

Shen Yun, known for its vibrant performances that celebrate traditional Chinese culture, is not a religious group but an artistic one that has faced targeted propaganda campaigns by the CCP. These campaigns are part of a broader strategy by the CCP to suppress dissent and control the narrative concerning China's cultural and historical legacy, even beyond its borders. This situation provides a significant opportunity for the GOP and President Donald Trump, to stand firm against such foreign interference and affirm our commitment to the First Amendment rights of all artistic entities.

The GOP must position itself as a protector of cultural expression and religious freedom, actively defending groups like Shen Yun. This commitment sends a powerful message that freedom of expression, whether through art or religion, is a fundamental right deeply ingrained in our principles of liberty and justice. Such a stance  resonates with a wide electorate who cherish the freedom to showcase their culture and beliefs without fear of persecution.

To harness this position effectively, President Trump should emphasize preserving and protecting freedom of expression in his speeches, highlighting the plight of Shen Yun as a prime example of why standing up to communism remains a vital political talking point. Public advocacy is crucial; we must use every available platform to expose the CCP's attempts to silence and discredit Shen Yun and other similarly targeted groups.

As we approach the midterms, it is essential that the GOP stands not only on economic and security policies but also on our unwavering support for those oppressed for their artistic and religious beliefs. This strategy will not only solidify our existing base but also attract new voters, establishing the GOP as the party of moral courage and integrity.

Championing the cause of groups like Shen Yun against CCP aggression is more than a political strategy; it is a moral imperative that embodies the core principles of the Republican Party. Let us lead with conviction and courage, ensuring that America remains a beacon of hope and freedom for all who seek refuge and justice.
