Trump Must Dismantle Kamala With Graceful Brutality

Today is the showdown for the 2024 race. For Roman history fans, it’s the political equivalent of the Battle of Pharsalus (or Alesia). The stakes couldn’t be higher, as this debate between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump will likely decide the election.

This nation has endured a Democratic Party coup that booted Joe Biden from the ticket and an assassination attempt that no one likes to talk about anymore. One candidate was replaced by someone younger but equally inept in politics. Kamala will do her best to rattle Trump, but all he must do is follow the same playbook during the June debate with Biden.

Harris needs a social media moment because she’s out of her depth on everything else. Trump should let the jabs roll off his shoulders and remain focused on his plan to rebuild the economy and how Harris is hell-bent on making us poorer. The tax on unrealized gains, which is likely unconstitutional, is a prime example, but stick to the dinner table issues. Everyone feels pinched by inflation, and Harris wants Soviet-style price controls to combat these price spikes for which she’s responsible

She will not have mental short-circuit moments like Biden did, but Trump should do all he can to get her to flesh out one of her ideas smartly. Make her stumble into a word salad, which isn’t hard. How will she pay for her economic agenda for the country—a rudimentary question—baffled her while on a bus tour in Pennsylvania.

One area that I would hope Trump has a decent answer for is abortion. You know it’s coming. It’s one of the few, if not the only, policy area where Harris could potentially trip up the former president. Biden didn’t have the mental bandwidth to push the issue, but Harris will. It’s the trap Trump should be cognizant of when the gauntlet is thrown down.

Discipline is the name of the game. He’s been president, he’s led and presided over a period of economic growth that was robust. Consumer and small business confidence reached historic highs. Unemployment reached record lows. The pandemic caused the economic downturn—it’s not his fault. Before the Wuhan lab leak, companies were handing out bonus checks and repatriating billions in overseas cash. Did the Biden-Harris climate permit that? They were so focused on being the anti-Trump White House that they wrecked the country and left a world aflame in its wake.

Harris has signaled she would cave to pro-Hamas activist demands, like implementing an arms embargo against Israel. Don’t let that slide. Trump would also do well to point out how many times Harris has flip-flopped and how even left-wing lawmakers like Bernie Sanders know she’s only doing that to win an election. What does Kamala stand for that isn’t written for her by the Democratic National Committee? She’s a younger, more diverse version of Joe Biden and just as braindead.

Hammer her record, her left-wing extremism, and her lack of experience. There's no need to get overly huffy or hostile. Mr. Trump, you’re poised to deliver a knockout blow. Don’t be like you were with Biden in the first debate four years ago. It didn’t work. Exhibit the graceful brutality that pushed Biden out the door. Looking poised and in control might offer independent voters still on the fence, who are not enthralled with Harris’ agenda, the push they need to break for you come Election Day.

You’re on the goal line, Mr. Trump. This moment comes after your two-minute drill downfield. Punch it home, and end Harris’ fake manufactured candidacy gracefully. You don’t need to do much, sir. She has no business being on the same stage as you. Show that.
