I’m not going to get into the nitty gritty details of JD Vance’s “childless cat ladies” remarks because it’s too silly to even comment on it. How Democrats reacted is all you need to know, opting to call Mr. Vance and the GOP “weird.” That’s it. Last time I checked, Republicans weren’t exposing their fake breasts on White House property, nor were they having gay sex in the room where the Senate Judiciary Committee meets. We’re not the party that can’t say what a woman is or denies the scientific fact that there are two genders, but I digress. What’s truly bizarre is how Kamala Harris became the 2024 Democratic Party nominee.
The woman must be the luckiest in recent memory: No Democrat has ever voted for Kamala Harris in a primary. Her disastrous 2020 campaign ended before the Iowa Caucuses. Now, after Joe Biden ran out of gas and got demolished in one debate with Donald Trump, he was forced out by the party bosses and replaced by a woman that no one wanted.
I recount seeing more than a few stories about liberal pundits urging Biden to dump his vice president ahead of the 2024 election. Harris is awkward, unprepared, sophomoric on the stump, and an all-around bad candidate. She’s to the left of Vladimir Lenin; she could be hailing from communist California. Now, Ms. Kamala is the greatest thing since sliced bread—seriously? Is that why this administration hid her in a cereal box? Was it because she was doing well at her job? She failed in her border czar role and botched increasing COVID vaccination rates, but like Biden, liberals see a woman of immense accomplishment. Yet, when asked, no one can name a single thing.
It's the mother of all ironies: Biden kept Kamala around as his insurance policy against a 25th Amendment push, and she still leap-frogged him. No one finds this entire chain of events weird, maybe even undemocratic? Over 10 million Democratic voters had their votes invalidated when Biden dropped out and Harris took the helm for these released pledged delegates. No one finds it odd that the media and Big Tech have worked overtime trying to convince voters that Harris’ leftist record is a lie. No one finds it unorthodox that someone who has never received a single Democratic vote will be occupying the top slot of the ticket. It’s arguably a coup. All of this as virtually every voter who isn’t a bleeding heart thinks she was neck-deep in the cover-up operation to shield the public from the precipitous decline of Biden’s health.
Is this democracy in action? Is this normal? No, it’s all very weird, just like Harris’ ascension to the throne, Joe Biden’s alleged mystery medical episode in Nevada that precipitated his dropping out of the 2024 race, and the media’s sprint to erase all legislative records of Harris so they can sell her as a centrist.
What we’re seeing is truly Orwellian. The only thing missing is a massive screen featuring the face of Donald Trump for Democrats to have their two minutes of hate. How Democrats "nominated" their standard bearers this year was beyond strange. And it's fitting that a woman who said, "It's time for us to do what we have been doing, and that time is every day," is now the leader of a party that's weird, extremist, and borderline mentally challenged.
