For years, everyone thought the Nixon White House was a corrupt den of reprobates and dirty tricksters. The reputation for secrecy that emanated through its walls and paranoia has long been documented. At times, to absurd lengths, as we saw with Oliver Stone’s “Nixon” in 1994. Yet, these are characteristics more aligned with the Biden White House, which ironically is the actual Nixonian nightmare that the left and some Republicans sold the country on back in 1973.

The White House has an obsessive mentality toward keeping Joe Biden insulated from the press and public regarding his mental decline. And yes, his tight inner circle is paranoid about it, especially in the last 18 or so months. That group has also sparked questions about who is making the decisions in the West Wing.

The media was in on it. Maybe not all of them, but there certainly were incidents that warranted a deeper dive into the president’s health that got buried by publications out of fear of losing access or damaging a Democratic president. This faux outrage from the industry about being misled is comical. We all know why they held their fire. Now, in a spring to catch up on months of decrepitude from the president, we have sources telling publications that they don’t know who is making the decisions.

Even worse, Axios, which has been one of the most prolific publications in documenting the president’s mental health issues, posted about three aides, Deputy Chief of Staff Annie Tomasini, the first lady's top adviser Anthony Bernal, and longtime aide Ashley Williams, who have formed a “cocoon” around the president, where he’s reportedly lost all independence. So, they’re running the country? Or is it Jill Biden and White House Chief of Staff Jeff Zeints? Is this one super committee? Something is not right here.

Now, we have these visits to the White House from a Parkinson’s Disease expert, Dr. Kevin Cannard, who was meeting with Biden’s doctor. At least eight trips are logged in the White House visitor log, though none exist for the president’s Delaware home. What’s he hiding? The inability of the White House to give a straight answer led to a blowup in the White House briefing room this week. Dr. Kevin O’Connor, Biden’s physician, later drafted a letter explaining the situation. It doesn’t clear up much concerning the president’s health, but this letter did more than whatever Karine Jean-Pierre did, which isn’t saying much:

Congress needs to investigate the Parkinson’s expert’s visits and whether there has been a coup. It’s not Operation FUBELT-level, but it appears to be that people no one elected are making decisions that should be left to the president. Even liberal reporters are conceding this isn’t an entirely nutty question, given the layers of secrecy that got this White House in trouble over the Parkinson’s flap. Hunter Biden’s shady deeds aren’t off the hook, but new lines of inquiry are legitimate.
