There are some people, bless their silly little hearts, who almost every time they open their mouths say something stupid. Elizabeth (“Pocahontas”) Warren is one of those people. Recently, this paragon of Democratic Party lying and tyranny said that “$7 billion from Jeff Bezos could fund free insulin for everyone plus free lunches for Texas school kids” (quoted from an X post by Kevin “Hercules” Sorbo). And I’m sure every unthinking leftist in the country said “yeah, yeah, yeah, tax the rich! Make them pay their fair share!” without, of course, ever telling us what their “fair share” is. Well, you can’t tell what you don’t know. It just sounds good to the ignorant and miseducated, and makes them feel good.

There is so much wrong with what Pocahontas said that it would take a book to thoroughly analyze it. But let me make a few points.

My first immediate thought was how long would $7 billion from Jeff Bezos' fund “free” insulin and “free” lunches? For a day? A year? Eternity? Where did Warren get the $7 billion figure? Yes, certainly, $7 billion of Jeff Bezos’ money could buy a lot of insulin and free school lunches. But how many good jobs would be lost if Mr. Bezos were not able to invest that substantial amount of money and put people to work? When you rob Peter to pay Paul, there is still a cost—to Peter and those he might have spent that money with.

And contrary to the incredible blindness of Elizabeth Warren, the insulin and school lunches wouldn’t be “free” because they would cost Jeff Bezos $7 billion. And the countless jobs that would disappear. Even if Bezos didn’t invest the $7 billion in some business, even if Bezos spent it all on a new yacht or a 400-room mansion or on his own pleasure, if Elizabeth Warren takes the money from Bezos so that he can’t buy a new yacht or mansion, how much employment would be lost because the yacht and mansion wouldn’t be built? There is a tremendous amount of wealth, countless jobs provided, involved in building yachts and mansions—from the resources that must be extracted from the earth all the way to the finished product. How many jobs are involved in that? And then, Pocahontas, after the yacht and mansion are finished, maybe some of your precious “migrants” could be given jobs working on Bezos’ new boat or in his new palatial palace. Much of that $7 billion could be given to them! Think about that, Senator Wigwam!

But if Pocahontas takes it, that is money that wouldn’t be spent, jobs lost that would never be seen. Warren cannot, or will not, think that far ahead. And if she can, but won’t, then she is a miserable hypocrite and deceiver, solely for personal political gain.

You know, when a thief steals money from someone, it doesn’t cost the thief one dime—it is “free” money for him. I have absolutely no objection—none whatsoever—to Bezos voluntarily donating his money for insulin or school lunches, or however he wishes. But I have every objection to him being forced, at government gunpoint, to give money for whatever cause Elizabeth Warren thinks he should. Voluntary giving is virtuous; forced giving is theft.

Folks, redistributing income is what thieves do—they redistribute income from those who have it to those who don’t, i.e., themselves. A thief might actually “need” the money he steals more than the person from whom he stole it, but it’s still theft. It’s still wrong. And it doesn’t become right if a majority of Americans vote that Congress can forcibly take the money from one person and give it to others. The Ten Commandments didn’t say, “Thou shalt not steal, unless a majority in Congress votes thou canst.”

I might also point out that government redistribution of income violates the American Constitution, not that anybody in Congress cares about that, and few people in America do. James Madison, who is considered the Father of our Constitution, said, ”Charity is no part of the legislative duty of the government. And he wrote (more directly to the point), “I cannot undertake to lay my finger on that article of the Constitution which granted a right to Congress of expending, on objects of benevolence, the money of their constituents.” Government charity is not what our Founders put in the Constitution. It’s not that they were cruel or greedy. They just knew human nature, that if the government starts handing out “free” money, then every bum, hobo, and sloth—from around the world—would line up for miles to get as much of it as they could. It isn’t just the “rich” who are “greedy.” And Madison knew that politicians would give money out so that they could buy the votes of people. There is nothing virtuous about forced charity. Our Founding Fathers understood that. Elizabeth Warren couldn’t care less about that because, ultimately, all she and most politicians are interested in is power. And sounding like they “care.” By spending other people’s hard-earned money. “Free” money buys votes. It will also bankrupt the country, thank you, $39 trillion debt.

Yes, Senator Pocahontas, we must help people. Both Judaism and Christianity abound in teachings about that. But to be virtuous, that giving must be voluntary, not forced; otherwise, a calloused hardness of heart will be produced that destroys true benevolence. What Warren is proposing, regardless of who the money comes from, is not virtuous; it’s theft. It’s evil. But then, all Democrats are evil. But evil makes them feel good, and it buys votes and gives them power—the power to steal other people’s money and make themselves feel good. And remain in power. That’s the name of the game in politics. And many American people, so naively, have never understood that.
