Where Will the Dust Finally Settle?

The question that is going through my mind is, once all the initial hysteria over the Trump trial verdicts has calmed down—and it will—where will the dust finally settle?  Trump is currently getting massive outpourings of support from those who back him.  These people are in flames right now.  They’ll inevitably cool off from their current heat, but they’ll still be diehard Trump.  The Left is expressing great glee that now the Republicans have a “convicted felon” as a candidate, and they will milk that for all it’s worth until November 5.  But that will become old hat soon enough, and there will be a return to “normalcy.”  When all the dust has cleared, how will the trial have affected the campaign?  That’s the question.

We must try, as best as possible, to objectively examine the American people’s feelings about Mr. Trump.  To many people, he is not a very likable person.  Honestly, he can be, and often is, crude, crass, arrogant, bombastic, nasty—a perfect imitation of the south end of a northbound Appaloosa.  Frankly, I’ve felt that way about him many times.  Sometimes, I just cringe, shake my head, and say, “Oh, I wish he hadn’t said that.”  He has produced that reaction among many people, and, because of it, has driven not a few of them away.  These character flaws in Mr. Trump were a main reason I supported Ron DeSantis in the primary.

There are, however, some Americans who think Trump walks on water and can do no wrong.  On the opposite side, there are numerous Americans who believe he rules in hell.  Yet, I suspect most Americans fall somewhere in between those two extremes.  But very few Americans have no opinion at all about Donald Trump.

Regardless of all that, he IS the Republican Party candidate, and I will support him in the upcoming election.  For all his faults, when compared to Joe Biden, Trump DOES walk on water, for Biden and the current Democratic Party are the ones who have arisen straight out of the lowest, darkest pit of hell.  The Democratic Party is just revolting.  Evil.  So, even though I don’t especially like Mr. Trump’s character, I AM going to support him—100%—because Biden is utterly—100%—abominable.  Trump is pro-America.  So am I.  That’s why I support him.  Warts and all.

The recent New York trial, for many Americans, won’t change anything.  Some people will vote for Trump regardless of what he has done or even might do.  Some people will never vote for him—period.  Minds closed.  The New York trial did not change any of the above people one whit, and had absolutely no effect on their voting intentions.  After the dust has cleared, they are going to be right where they were to begin with.  That’s probably the majority of Americans.

But what about those Americans...” in the middle,” shall I say?  Those who don’t think Trump walks on water, but also don’t characterize him as Satan incarnate.  It is these people who will decide America’s next President.  Where will they be when the dust settles?

I have no clue how many such Americans exist.  Nor do I know how they will react to the New York trial.  Given human nature, I’m sure the reactions will vary.  For some, who don’t really care much about politics one way or another, they probably didn’t pay much attention to the trial—“just a bunch of corrupt politicians going after each other,” which is actually a pretty good analysis.  They may be so sick of the whole mess and feel that there is so little possibility of changing things, that they won’t even vote.  I imagine there exists a coterie of Americans with that mentality.

There are also those who, maybe because they have been swept up in the general degenerate, ignorant leftward tide of America the last few decades and don’t do much thinking for themselves, will be persuaded by the convictions, and say, “Well, I’m an American, I believe in the American judicial system, and it convicted Trump of crimes.  I can’t vote for a criminal.”  This is, of course, the group that the Democrats hope is the largest.  It was their whole plan in the first place—to produce as many of these people as possible.  There WILL be some, of that there can be no doubt.  But how many?

However, there will surely be many Americans who will finally say, “Enough is enough!”  This group doesn’t think Trump walks on water, but they don’t regard him as Adolf Hitler, either.  They will finally have perceived that the Democratic Party has done nothing in the last eight years but persecute Donald Trump.  Over and over and over again, the Democrats have tried to destroy him—personally.  And this “enough is enough” crowd of Americans, which if polls are correct, has already been growing the past several months, might end up saying, “Well, Trump is a horse’s backside, but nobody deserves this.  The Democrats have gone way too far.  Besides, Biden has been a terrible President.  My pocketbook says so.”

How many of these Americans exist?

November 5 will provide the answer to that question.

Of course, there will have to be enough of them to overcome Democratic Party cheating and Republican Party incompetence.  That is a grave concern.  But we can only hope that the hatred of the Democratic Party towards Donald Trump has become so transparent and visible—and repulsive to enough decent Americans—that, even though they may not like Trump, they will vote for him because they are now convinced that Biden is a far worse choice.

“Enough is enough!”

The Democrats’ political strategy is, “Our guy may be bad, but the other guy is worse.”  But they may have convinced most Americans that the direct opposite is true.
