If I’m being truly honest, I thought it would take longer.
Undoing the four years of Joe Biden’s energy disaster should have taken more time. Truthfully, roughly two years was the initial internal timer President Trump would need to fix all the damage. And while there is still a lot of work ahead, it’s clear that in less than 50 days, President Trump has done more for energy than any other president in history.
That may sound hyperbolic, but consider the facts: under Joe Biden, gas prices hit their highest levels in history. His administration leased fewer acres of federal land for oil development than any president since Harry Truman. Every American who has set foot in a grocery store in the last few years has felt the pain of Biden’s disastrous energy policies in their wallets. Rising transportation and energy costs made everything more expensive, from food to household necessities, placing a heavy burden on working families. Under Biden, the idea of energy independence became a distant memory, as his administration prioritized green energy fantasies over real-world energy needs.
That’s why voters put Trump back in office, and his early moves on energy prove they made the right choice. Here’s just a sampling of what he has accomplished in less than 50 days:
– Declared a national energy emergency on Day 1 – President Trump is cutting through regulatory red tape and streamlining the permitting process for energy projects. This move alone has already allowed the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to fast-track approvals for hundreds of oil, natural gas, and coal projects that were previously stalled under Biden’s restrictive policies.
– Approved a long-awaited liquefied natural gas (LNG) export terminal – Joe Biden, at the behest of political operative John Podesta imposed an, LNG export “pause” which opened the door for other countries to gain market share for their LNG. President Trump’s reversal will not only boost domestic energy production but also strengthen America’s role as a global leader in energy exports.
– Scrapped Biden’s draconian EV mandates - No one wants to be told what car to buy. Biden’s mandates would have effectively forced electric vehicles on American consumers by requiring nearly half of all cars sold after 2030 to be EVs or hybrids. President Trump understands that American drivers—not Washington bureaucrats—should decide what cars they drive and scrapped the requirement.
– Restarted offshore oil and gas lease sales - Biden had stalled or canceled new oil and natural gas production on federal land. President Trump’s decisive action ensures that America’s vast energy reserves are utilized instead of being locked away by bureaucratic red tape. By opening up domestic drilling, Trump is reducing reliance on foreign energy and putting American workers back on the job.

– Scrapped Joe Biden’s Natural Gas Tax – Buried within the failed Inflation Reduction Act was a fee on natural gas production that would raise prices on the 61 percent of American homes that use it. Congress has passed a bill repealing the tax and President Trump is expected to sign it.
This is just scratching the surface.
Gone are the days when the U.S. president runs to Saudi Arabia, hat in hand, begging for more oil. Instead, President Trump has taken decisive action to ensure American energy independence. One of his most impactful moves was canceling Biden’s sweetheart oil deal with Venezuela, a scheme that benefited socialist dictator Nicolás Maduro while stifling domestic energy production. Trump understands that America has the resources and the ingenuity to meet its own energy needs without enriching corrupt foreign regimes.
Beyond undoing Biden’s blunders, Trump is charting a new course for American energy dominance. Unlike Biden, who chased unrealistic net-zero goals while ignoring the realities of energy demand, Trump is prioritizing an approach that keeps America strong and competitive.
He's doing more than just playing cleanup, President Trump is laying a solid foundation for American energy security—one that won’t be easily dismantled by eco-leftists in the future.
Many presidents treat their first 100 days as the first checkpoint to evaluate their success. When it comes to energy, President Trump has set a new world record for effectiveness in less than half that time.
The message is clear: American energy is back, and so is American strength.
