The Left’s Climate Grift Is Being Exposed

For the past two decades, leftist activists have captured billions of dollars in taxpayer funding – domestically and abroad – under the guise of “fighting climate change.”

From Al Gore preaching about the Earth being in a "frying pan" while getting rich off of Qatari oil money to John Kerry demanding taxpayers send him to climate change conferences around the world on a private jet – and much more. The environment was never the concern; it was a front for corruption and communist-style control.

Last week, we were given yet another example of this grift when a solar project fully backed by the Obama administration was shuttered, leaving thousands of previously pristine acres and dead wildlife in its wake.

“A major California utility — Pacific Gas &Electric — announced that it will no longer buy power from the Ivanpah solar plant off Interstate 15 near the Nevada-California border. As a result, two of the plant’s three towers will shut down next year — and the third will probably follow,” the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports. “This is in stark contrast to the fanfare that characterized Ivanpah’s opening in 2014, made possible thanks to a $1.6 billion U.S. taxpayer contribution courtesy of the Obama administration. One solar official heralded the moment as a ‘dawn of a new era in power generation in the United States.’”

“The plant became better known as a prolific executioner of wildlife, particularly of the flying kind. The massive fields of mirrors that directed sunlight to the tops of tall towers generated red-hot rays that were lethal to birds. Estimates were that the Ivanpah plant burned up at least 6,000 birds a year,” the story continues.

Nearly $2 billion and thousands of fried birds later, we’re left with thousands of acres of toxic solar waste. The same ideologues behind this failed and disgraceful project will insist that American taxpayers continue to fund similar projects all over the West. We should all loudly say, “Hell no.”

With President Donald Trump in the White House for a second term, future climate grifting is coming to an end.

It started on January 20, when Trump pulled the United States out of the Climate Paris Accords immediately upon taking office.

“In recent years, the United States has purported to join international agreements and initiatives that do not reflect our country’s values or our contributions to the pursuit of economic and environmental objectives. Moreover, these agreements steer American taxpayer dollars to countries that do not require, or merit, financial assistance in the interests of the American people,” Trump’s executive order on the matter states.

Now, Elon Musk and his DOGE team, in partnership with Trump Cabinet officials, are taking an ax to activist funding, from the EPA to the State Department and beyond.

"I just canceled a $50 MILLION Biden-era environmental justice grant to the Climate Justice Alliance, which believes “climate justice travels through a Free Palestine,” EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin proudly declared on X. “The days of irresponsibly shoveling boatloads of cash to far-left activist groups in the name of ‘environmental justice’ and ‘climate equity’ are over.”

The climate change narrative has always been a scam. It's long past time for the government to stop subsidizing the fear-mongering of leftist activists, especially for the sake of implementing more government control at the expense of the American taxpayer.
