A friend from high school wrote to me after reading one of my articles. He said I missed one particular issue, and he was right. I replied, “Thanks for pointing that out, and that would make a very good article by you.”
A few days later, he wrote back and said, “I'm too busy reading your articles and those of others.” Being informed about current events is admirable; too many people merely read headlines or catch orchestrated sound bites. Taking action, influencing others, and supporting just causes are better. Our country is on the brink of something highly undesirable: unending tyranny.
Withstanding is Not Winning
How much longer can the 75 million people who voted for Trump in the 2020 election withstand the Biden administration, the thoroughly corrupt DOJ, the compromised FBI, the legacy media, and all those on the Left who are doing their best to diminish our great nation at ever frightening speeds?
How often do we want to scan each day’s news and continue reading about one disheartening development after another? How much longer do we want to be regarded as second-class citizens, potential terrorists, and people that the Left would prefer to eradicate? And yet, as a massive force, we do little.
If you counted the number of conservatives who take direct action in support of our nation, the low numbers might astound you. It is perhaps 60 thousand at most and only a couple thousand at worst who actually engage in action semi-regularly. This includes people who run for office, support the political campaigns of others, and serve as show hosts, expert guests, speakers, publishers, editors, and authors of books, magazine articles, newspaper articles, blog posts, and podcasts.
An even smaller percentage serve as election monitors or volunteers at local G.O.P offices, contacting potential voters, assisting in mailing campaigns, and knocking on doors.
Excuse for Non-Action
Many of the 75 million Trump voters hold jobs and handle a variety of responsibilities. Seemingly, they have little time to devote to the cause of restoring our nation. If 10% of 75 million voters devoted only two hours per week to the cause, that would equal 15 million hours. Could 15 million volunteer hours per week substantially impact the direction of our country? Yes. We could change some minds. We could induce more people to vote for a positive future as opposed to a future that, predictably, will lead to doom.
Not everyone can help in major ways, but everyone can help in some way. Action is invigorating. Every G.O.P. office precinct could use some helping hands. Whether it's stuffing envelopes, making calls, writing articles, or any other way of getting the word out, your participation can make a difference. Perhaps you can volunteer with a friend.
You have these two hours. Watch two fewer TV shows. Watch one less movie. Watch one less sporting event. Within the span of 168 hours – one week – each of us can eke out two hours.
An Existential Struggle
The handwriting is on the wall, on the ceiling, on the floor, outside the door, and everywhere else you look. We are in an existential struggle. The Left is machine-like in their approach to attacking our institutions. They have cajoled, coerced, and extorted major corporations and organizations across the land. They leave no stone unturned. They infect the halls of governments, schools, higher academia, publishing, Hollywood, entertainment, our military, and healthcare.
Am I being naive to believe that we could create a tidal wave of massive positive changes? That we could steer our country away from the perilous cliffs toward which we’re heading?
When there is no longer a chance to respond to their vigorous attacks, when they have won election after election, and have quashed our rights to the point where the Founding Fathers would not recognize this country, it won't be of any use to tell your heirs, “Hey I was busy with a nine-to-five job.” “I was raising two kids.” “I was managing property.” “I was doing this and that,” while we let our nation's sovereignty slip through our fingers.
