Planned Parenthood and Human Coalition have the same abortion-seeking client. We know her – who she is, what's driving her to seek an abortion, and what may cause her to change her mind. What Planned Parenthood doesn't want Americans to know is that she's far less certain about abortion than they'd have you believe.
In fact, less than one in four abortion-seeking women feels confident in her desire to abort.
Every other mom tells Human Coalition she would either prefer to parent (58 percent) or doesn’t know what she’d want (19 percent) if her circumstances were different.
So why is the American taxpayer funding an organization whose primary response to an unexpected pregnancy is abortion for a fee?
That investment could and should be made into strategies to change the circumstances driving her to seek an abortion in the first place.
These burdens – poverty, fear of being judged, lack of confidence that she can be a good mother, lack of support from family or the baby’s father, and fear of raising her child on her own – weigh heavily on a mom. But they can be eased when communities step in.
Planned Parenthood doesn’t solve any of these challenges. Instead, it profits from her fear and sends her right back into all the problems that drove her through their doors in the first place.
Pregnant moms deserve leaders who address the crises driving abortion – not leaders who fund it.
As a post-abortive father myself, I know firsthand the devastation Planned Parenthood leaves in its wake. When we were young and unexpectedly pregnant, my now-wife Tricia and I had no one telling us, “You can do this.” For so many moms living through the aftermath of the same abortion decision we made, just one voice offering something other than abortion could have been the difference between life and death.

Today, I've dedicated my life to fighting for the mom who believes abortion is her only choice. Even the pro-abortion Guttmacher Institute has admitted that women who had an abortion “typically” felt “they had no other choice,” an indictment of a movement that calls itself pro-choice.
The typical woman preyed on by Planned Parenthood and served by Human Coalition may not match the stereotype. She's often a single mom in her late 20s, living at or below the poverty line, facing unemployment or housing instability. She is no stranger to struggle or to motherhood. She and her kids are surviving, but they’re not thriving.
Bringing another child into her situation feels impossible.
It’s no mystery, then, that when Planned Parenthood offers to eliminate the baby from this scenario, this mom will so often take them up on the sales pitch.
Planned Parenthood was there when my wife called 32 years ago, panicked by the unexpected, and they were there last year when 434,450 moms like Tricia felt they had no other choice. That is not just a sickening statistic about Planned Parenthood; it’s a sickening fact about the state of our nation that a single U.S. abortion vendor facilitated the deaths of nearly half a million children whose mothers continue to feel they have no other choice.
The organization I lead exists to find Planned Parenthood’s would-be abortion customers before Planned Parenthood does. We seek to introduce peace into her storm of panic and fear. We take the time to identify the unique set of circumstances driving her to seek an abortion, and work on solving those circumstances together with her.
Instead of asking her where we can ship her abortion pills, we ask her what is causing her to seek an abortion in the first place. Instead of killing her child, we create a care plan designed to alleviate the very legitimate fears and struggles driving her toward the abortion industry.
We know how to help these moms. Yet, U.S. taxpayers are scheduled to resume fully funding Planned Parenthood’s Medicaid reimbursements on July 4 of this year, when a one-year moratorium in the One Big Beautiful Bill of 2025 expires. Planned Parenthood can be fully removed from taxpayer funding, and those dollars can be redirected to real support for moms and families.
Because Planned Parenthood’s client is Human Coalition’s client, I can tell you that subsidizing Planned Parenthood is subsidizing an institution that offers only death where life is possible.
With millions of dead children and wounded families in its wake, when will our leaders say enough is enough? It’s time to end the taxpayer funding of America’s abortion Goliath.
