Demo-lition Project – ABC NETWORK
You almost have to try to get this kind of reaction.
That did not take long. When Jimmy Kimmel was going to make his “triumphant” return to the airwaves, pretty much everyone knew it would generate a reaction. Something about perpetual media hype for his controversy all but assured he would garner an audience once he was back.
We figured that he would float back down to his usual audience levels, but the speed with which he came back down to earth is a bit jarring. Rather than easing back to his average, Kimmel lost 70% of that figure in just his third broadcast since the suspension. The hype also died down on YouTube, where the 20 million views he pulled from the Tuesday return has also evaporated.

First Amendment Strike Force – GOOGLE / YOUTUBE
Recommended
- The significant part is how lightly this is being reported.
Last week, we featured how Google came out with the news that it had de-platformed thousands of accounts at the instruction of the Biden administration. It was curious how the press, right as they were bellowing about government censorship, had little interest in that tale of government censorship. Now, Google is at it again – or, more accurately, not at it, yet again. Google has agreed to a $24.5 million settlement with President Trump over de-platforming his account, and the coverage is not nearly at a level this story would normally generate.
The payout marks the last of the three tech companies with pending litigation with Trump in the fallout of the 2020 election.

Reporting on the Mirror – MSNBC / MS NOW
- The change they do not want is approaching.
MSNBC has had a brutal 2025, and the next year may prove to be even worse. The network is down over 50% from its 2024 ratings, and even steeper in the core demographic. Now come the wholesale changes as the network has been spun off by Comcast-Universal, and October means that not only will there be a name change, but all connections with NBC News will come to an end. As a result, MSNBC will be getting its syndicated international reports from Sky News, beginning next month, as it no longer will have access to any NBC News content or infrastructure.

Prose & Contradiction – REPORTERS WITHOUT BORDERS
- When an international journalism protection agency…does not, Brian Stelter excitedly delivers a piece of deeply curious news.
The journalism activist group Reporters Without Borders is driving a billboard truck around the headquarters of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). This is being done to protest the agency’s treatment of…um, not a reporter.
Reps for Reporters Without Borders and the Committee to Protect Journalists tell me they'll be circling the FCC's HQ with a mobile billboard truck "to draw attention to the FCC's politicization, most recently illustrated by Carr’s threats that forced Jimmy Kimmel off the air."
— Brian Stelter (@brianstelter) September 30, 2025
Let’s tabulate the quixotic details: This is not an international issue, Kimmel is not a reporter, and he is not being silenced, as seen in the effusive coverage of his return from the likes of Brian Stelter. Otherwise, a totally legitimate news item.
Pre-Written Field Reports – DAILY MAIL
- When those who go on the record are ignored.
Ahead of Secretary of War Pete Hegseth addressing the military command on Tuesday morning, we got this inside exposé on how Hegseth is allegedly coming unglued.
Pete Hegseth is 'crawling out his skin': Pentagon insiders tell of explosive tantrums and erratic behavior... as his wife is accused of making outrageous demands https://t.co/fKjhzbAYhx

Of little surprise, this is all based on the comments delivered by two brave souls who remained nameless and anonymous. They did get a response from DoW spokesman Sean Parnell, but gave him little audience:
“Chief Pentagon Spokesman Sean Parnell did, however, respond to our inquiry about Hegseth's mental state, writing in an email laden with personal insults that, 'Your entire story is completely false.'”
To get the full response from Parnell, he shared it with the Daily Beast, which did its best to promote the accusations by essentially repeating the Daily Mail article. In it, Parnell was rather distinctively dismissive of the claims being made:
When approached for comment, the Pentagon directed the Daily Beast to a statement spokesman Sean Parnell wrote to the Daily Mail: '[We] receive all kinds [of] outrageous and untrue requests, but this might be the stupidest request we have received to date. You may be the least informed ‘journalist’ to ever report on the Pentagon. Your entire story is completely false.'
He was then rather succinct on social media.
This story is complete & total bullshit. 😂 https://t.co/heIJf3D198
